Last letters make new words - Series 3
Orchids and other lovely plants that don’t need a lot of attention
So now there is a public spat between Ivana Trump, DT’s first wife and Melania.
Toe-curling doesn’t do it justice, does it? If he weren’t so obnoxious you could (almost) feel sorry for him, but not much chance of that.

(PS how can somebody with all that money at her disposal look like the public face Ivana presents? Unworthy of me, I know, but the trout pout, lipstick looking like she applied it in the dark, beehive off Coronation Street and panda eyes? )
The EC has some bearing on keeping the vote balanced to the rural states and populated states. The coasts have the population, without the EC the middle would have no representation. Bush2 won without votes but to the EC votes of Florida. I think the EC won to the popular vote 5 times.

When Trump went to Puerto Rico he said that they can be proud that there were only sixteen deaths in comparison to Katrina which was a real catastrophe. ( Katrina was a hurricane) proud of deaths?Tell that to the families of those sixteen.
WhitewaveYes you are correct. His speech was an embarrassment and he went on for months after talking about the size of the crowd when in actuality it was small in size. Hillary is correct in that he has done NOTHING for the country besides alienating world leaders. He and his congress just cut down the budget for poor children’s health insurance. And Puerto Rico still does not have power.
Many in the mental health field, although they can’t properly diagnose him, think he is mentally unwell. Many of us are worried about him getting us into WWIII. And of course that would involve our allies probably as well.
We really don’t have a democracy ... it is a representative democracy and that’s what got us into trouble . Each state getting so many electoral votes based on population of that state. So if one state has ten votes and their popular vote winner is X then that state gets all ten votes. If was started back when slaves weren’t counted as full votes but each slaveowner got 3/5 of a vote for each slave they had. That way it was fairer to the people in the northern states who didn’t have many slaves. A little bit of our history there.
ElegranI never heard it read that he said that to the anti lgbt group. May be fake news.
Thanks for the information Elegran, I'd somehow missed that recent horror.
quiz queen, if you're to criticise Hilary Clinton, perhaps you could criticise her politics rather than her husband's lies and infidelity. She said she initially believed him and was furious when the truth emerged. Whatever else, they are a couple who have stayed together through all life's challenges. She has shown real strength and fortitude and yes, I'd much rather she was in the White House than the current inhabitant with his abhorrent behaviour, attitudes and unstable personality.
Jane 10 is right, there is a lot of speculation from well known psychiatrists and psychologists about T's mental health.
I would choose a man who had an affair before a racist, bullying, lying war monger who believes women who have an abortion should be punished but not the man who was also responsible for the unwanted pregnancy .
When did Hilary deny having sexual relationships with a woman quizqueen?
Yesterday Trump addressed the Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit – (a recognised anti-LGBT hate group – and told the crowds their anti-LGBT views would “no longer be silenced”.
"Arriving at the event, Trump said it was great “to be among friends” as he declared: “We are returning moral clarity to our view of the world.”

Good grief; what about the things that Trump has said about women quizqueen? Do you not find that stomach churningly offensive?
So you think Hilary should be condemned for what her husband did? Seriously?
Perhaps you would prefer lying Hillary with her 'I did not have sexual relations with that woman, then why is your sperm all over her dress, Mr President?' husband having her finger on the button!
sarahelenwhitney no my friend is not an expert on mental health she just posted links to conversations between white house staff. Its all over the news.
starbird; that is very worrying, isn't it
. If only we humans would devote all of out time, efforts and money to looking after the world we live in, instead of fighting for power all the time.
He needs Nanny Mcfee
Grumppa - that certainly is a thought. I reckon Miss Marple would be a very good influence on Trump. A nanny figure to teach him good manners is just what he needs and her detection skills would keep her ahead of the game and able to head off his tantrums before they happen. Trump seems rather like a big baby craving attention to me so Nanny would be the one to sort that out.
I didn’t see that. But I take your point tegan
Did anyone else think, when Mark Kermodes film review was stopped so that the BBC could go 'straight to the White House' that Trump was about to declare war with, well, just about anyone/everyone
?!
rhinstone assuming you are in the US , Hilary Clinton was on a television programme tonight, promoting a new book.
She suggested that Trumps inauguration speech was the worst ever and nothing he’s done has got any better.
She also claims that many Republicans think the same as she does.
Who cares frankly!
To be fair, I understand a lot of fake news originates from him (also known as lies...)
How can it be democratic if the person with fewer votes wins ?
I find Trump as obnoxious as the next person and consider him totally unworthy of his position, BUT he was voted into office by a democratic process and i am totally sick of the ongoing bad press against him. For example, It was claimed by the American press, serveral of their news channels and widely in the media that he had descibed the Las Vegas massacre as a miracle - when listening to his speech, what he actually said was it was a miracle more oeople were not killed! No wonder he is paranoid sbout false news! I think he will not last long, he will soon get bored with the slow process of changing legislation etc when he realises he cant shout and bully Congress to get his own way as he does, allegedly, in business, unkess someone bumps him off first!
Thank you NotTooOld for identifying Trump's second wife as Marla Maples. Unfortunately, in my haste I first read it as Miss Marple. Now there's a thought......
Jane 10
Are we to believe your friend an expert on mental health?
Having read that the Yellowstone volcano is becoming very active, I keep thinking of the film, "The day after tomorrow". Can you imagine if virtually all of the Americans (or at least those that survive the initial explosion) were to have to go and beg other countries to take them in? I don't wish this scenario on anybody, and the whole world would suffer the after effects for at least ten years, but sometimes it looks as though it will take some sort of major catastrophe to knock some sense into peoples' heads, especially those of our leaders, and make them act like mature human beings who care about the well being of all, instead of acting like petulant, posturing, schoolboys
We didn’t elect Trump. Hillary had three million more popular votes but it’s our electoral college that did. It is an out of date system. Trump promised to be a businessman and not a politician . That’s why he was appealing to some. He doesn’t care about Puerto Rico in my opinion because they can’t vote for president even though it is our territory. He has made people unfriendly others on Facebook, caused numerous arguments and spewed hate.
He doesn’t care about the right thing he cares about him and how he will look and what he can brag about.
I have never been so stressed about any President before.
