This as the Labour Party conference , a momentum fringe meeting.

Corbyn attended Momentum fringe invites but turned down Friends of Israel invite.

Very Donald Trump isn't it?

Labour whipped into an abstain on Single Market membership...

Champagne Socialists probably abound in Islington.

Now that's what I call 'deselection'.

Venezuela as we all know has been the Corbyn /McDonnell/Abbott et al choice of style of governance for the UK to follow. Chavez and Modurro were , still are probably their heroes. Which one hailed Venezuala as "socialism in action"? If that's the case Lord help us!

I remember once reading a tweet from Corbyn , I think it might have been at the time Chavez died, somebody in response tweeted back:-

" It is easy to worship socialism for someone who lives in capitalism."

Re the Grenfell Tower disaster what worries me and has done from day one has been the speed the Grenfell Tower disaster was indeed exploited by some on social media sites , the Media and by so many politicians etc.

Whilst I whole heartedly agree there have been some mistakes made I am reminded of the quotes from some who gave fake news , some who happily repeated fake news and did so for political reasons for the most part.

Examples would be the number of loss of life, those who have found to be liars and fraudulent who were believed to be residents but were no such thing they smelt money, to the most incredible of all those who said they saw a baby being thrown out of window .

There should be a lot of embarrassment on several peoples part in my opinion but of course their thick skin will no doubt mean they will not see themselves in that light.

No condemnation yet from JC & Co about Maduro banning all opposition parties from the election next year in Venezuela. I suppose it will make counting the votes easier.

Is it supposed to be a scarf tied a la Robert Peston style?

From Kevin Maguire on Twitter

"Lovely festive Christmas card from Jeremy Corbyn. Unfortunate two people inadvertently look as if they’re holding guns!"

Do you think it's okay that 40 children under the age of 18 are still living in temporary accommodation?

justice4grenfell.org/campaign/protest-6th-december-2017-house-grenfell-residents-now/

Over 1600 empty homes in the borough, yet 80% of Grenfell residents still in temporary accommodation.
What do you think about that?

Would you know it now if it wasn't for Justice4Grenfell?

durhamjen Mon 11-Dec-17 19:06:17

They are doing their job, standing up for Grenfell residents.

What are your views on the lack of council help for Grenfell residents?

Very few people 'pronounce' the 'r' or the 'e' in 'butter (or any other word ending in 'er' come to that. It's a sound called a 'schwa' and it's the most common vowel sound in English that no-one is ever taught about! The 'er' at the end of a word spells whatever sound you make there. If you didn't pronounce the 'er' gillyb you'd be saying 'butt'

(with that northern 'u' sound which I can't make because I'm a southerner and which I cannot think how to spell phonetically)

I did have a problem many years ago asking for 'butter' in a Sheffield shop (that just shows how many years ago it was, we still had shops where you were served by an assistant instead of hurling everything into a trolley).

Anyway, I asked for 'butter' and was told that they didn't sell 'batter'...

gillybob Mon 11-Dec-17 11:00:50

I'm 55 GG and I left my grammar school in 1978 aged 16 (couldn't wait to get out of the door). Had my first child 2 years later. blush

Here in Geordieland where we speak "proper like" we don't pronounce the "r" or the "e" in butter. All together now BUTTA ! grin
