Corbyns Momentum

The point why would I care what the right think? Give me some real facts that show why you think the Conservative government is caring, efficient and thoughtful and I might change my mind. I will certainly not swap my beliefs for yours just because you attack those currently working towards a government for all not for the privileged.

Negativity does not win votes. It seems to me those on the right have learned nothing. Just keep making insulting and critical attacks about the opposition, making nasty and derogatory personal attacks on those who stand for their values and you will end up with more people voting for them. The right on here appear to do it so often simply because they have nothing positive to say about this government that has caused so much tragedy.

As a Labour Party member who suffered as did many through the .thatcher years, I do not think or believe T May is cruel , rude, appalling and certaintly not ungracious , she has dignity and I admire her, could not vote Tory but I liked .Ken Clarke and admire T May , I admire dignity and she certaintly has that

I don't think that Theresa May is "appalling, cruel, rude, ingracious or personally combative."
However I think that John McDonnell fits that description.
If Momentum are serious about taking power they ought to make sure their MPs are serious MPs - Jared O'Mara - the Momentum MP - has yet to speak in Parliament and his attendance at 35% is well below average.

I couldn't agree with you more Iam. We need the scales balancing away from the nasty attacks on those who cannot fight back and, let's face it, kindergarten kids could not be less competent or more cruel than what we have at the moment.

The greatest thing that makes me want a Corbyn government (at least once, I will reserve my opinion after that) is that I believe that he believes in what he says.

Some of you don't agree and dig the fake dirt. So what. I have no idea what you think it will do other than make you feel you are right. It won't change others views. I can see for myself what is happening with this government, no one has to make it up. They are appalling, cruel, and the rudeness, ingraciousness, and personally combative nature of a Tory would make me wonder what values the people would have who would vote for them if I had not seen for myself how they perceive others.

I cannot vote Labour again while Momentum, Corbyn, Mcdonnell et al are in charge

You may join one organisation because you believe in its ethos and aspirations - but that does not mean that a sub-group of that organisation (or a sister group?) can automatically enrol you as a member!

I am no longer aLP member but I am a LP voter . I can't imagine voting anything else and will support my local LP MP because he's good

I began to get Momentum emails when I was a LP member and they're still arriving.

I share the concerns expressed by some about Marxism but - we need a Labour government to ensure our public services are supported rather than decimated. A Labour government would indeed be for the many not the few.

So you are classed a corbinite more than a Labour Party member Fennel ? perhaps all who joined when Corbyn took to the stage are automatically Momentum members , the party lost its way in 1983 because of the likes of Corbyn

ps I'm a bit out of touch now, having lived away from the UK for 17 years, but still have very strong roots in the coalmining town where I grew up, strengthened by some parts of my education.

I was an active member of the LP in the 70s and resigned in the 80s when they seemed to be losing their way. Rejoined when Corbyn was put forward for leader, and am still a member. So I seem to have been automatically incorporated into Momentum.
Although there are a few things he stands for that I'm not sure about, overall his approach suits me. Make of that what you will!

Nope. You and I have posted on Momentum from the time it started and I asked then 'Who was behind it'. I could possibly find through 'search' our posts but I would be called a 'stalker' again.

Since that that time you and I have been on opposing sides of the discussions about Momentum and I have not changed my opinion of what I think about it. It has been interesting watching Momentum grow in strength but that is as far as I can go with any praise for it .

I note you are insinuating I do not care about about the homeless or people using foodbanks but I will take that comment in my stride to be honest. There is an irony to the comment actually and as long as I know where , what I do then I do not care what you or others think.

Why do you have such a thing about Momentum?
Probably for the same reasons that many on these forums have "a thing" about the Conservative party, or anything or anyone connected to them. Do you think?

Yes I'm a member of Momentum, but I'm not quite sure how it happened or what it means.

I have heard a lot of posters on the political threads saying how much they are in despair about foodbanks, homelessness, etc - but do they actually get out and about and help or help in fundraising?
Or just wail and throw their hands in the air?

That means the rest of us are probably not.
