Just been looking through a report on global wealth.
Marx wasn't in it once in 142 pages, but neither was economist, so I don't think you need to worry.
Stalinism isn't alive, either. It's just that young people like to believe in fairness.

What I don't understand is when it is pointed out to Corbyn, McDonnell they are self proclaimed Marxists for some odd reason they try to deflect from the fact they are. Likewise those who are followers of them also appear to do the same.

Why?

If you are a believer in Marx/ Das Kapital or the 'Little Red Book' , as John McDonnell produced to amusement in Parliament, have the faith to say so.

If you do not agree with Marx and Das Kapital then why are you following John McDonnel and Corbyn?

OK, Marx might now be remembered as a revolutionary advocate of communism - he co-wrote The Communist Manifesto - but he was a leading 19th-century economist in the 'classical' tradition. Is there a link which backs up the claim most economists agree with .Marx and many would describe themselves as marxists or is this claim an attempt to support a claim which is just a fantasy ?

Sorry but I'm not sure what a Daily Mail critique of McDonnell has to do with what he has actually said.

What evidence do you have that 'most economists agree with Marx' or 'many economists would describe themselves as Marxists'. That is quite a wild assumption - is that from the Mail or is that your opinion?

As usual they are using hyperbole to claim something that isn’t true in the sense they would like you to believe.

Most economists agree with Marx when he stated that the accumulation of capital does not proceed in an orderly fashion and there are peaks and troughs which is for Marx and most economists a fundamental characteristic of the capitalist system. It is the engine if you like

Many economist would describe themselves as Marxists in the simplest of terms when describing the economic system. Much of Marx theory was not bettered, and as the science of economics has developed it has frequently used this theory as a basis, it cannot be bettered.

But to then make the jump to say that they are Marxist n the social sense is both nonsense and ignorant. But that is the Fail for you.

I don't think anyone is expecting an implementation of socialism as a precursor to communism according to a path set out in a book written in 1848.
What flavour of Marxism do you think McDonnell is talking about when he says 'I am a Marxist'?

Marxism doesn’t exist in its original form any more. It’s as outdated as Wolfie Smith. What is emerging is a clear divide between left and right wing politics.

Left wing as epitomised by Corbyn and right by Trump. Is one more ‘extreme’ than the other? It’s all a matter of degree and tends to folllow Newton's third law of motion, which would seem to apply in politics as much as to physics.
