This as the Labour Party conference , a momentum fringe meeting.

Corbyn attended Momentum fringe invites but turned down Friends of Israel invite.

Very Donald Trump isn't it?

Anniebach Sun 29-Oct-17 13:02:13

Agree with you Day 6

Anniebach Sun 29-Oct-17 13:01:17

Seems so Primrose, as a student you have the God given right to be abusive, Ill mannered, cocky, and use the most foul language

Primrose65 Sun 29-Oct-17 12:57:15

A student loan gives someone the right to aggression? That's a remarkable view.
As the proud owner of a student loan at the moment, does that mean I can get abusive on these threads?

trisher Sun 29-Oct-17 12:33:08

But then I assume Day6 the you are not paying back a huge student loan, struggling to find affordable accommodation and a job that pays enough to live on whilst watching others getting unpaid internships, supported by mum and dad who are making a fortune from letting property. If you were perhaps you might be driven to express yourself more aggressively.

Day6 Sun 29-Oct-17 11:59:38

trisher Much better to understand where that language and anger is coming from and listen to the very real complaints they voice.

I disagree.

"Kill Tory bastards" as I heard frequently at a rally is no argument.

No argument at all. It's violent hatred of people who support another party, no more no less and an incitement to violence. It's juvenile and coarse. The effigies hanging from the bridge in Manchester at the time of the Conservative part conference were the work of the unthinking (young?) who had no qualms about stringing people up.

Very tolerant, liberal and thoughtful - NOT.

If this is the way the Labour party is going, many, many former Labour voters will not want to associate with this particularly violent and intolerant brand of socialism.

I count myself as one who would not consider voting Labour again until the party is united and more moderate.

Anniebach Sun 29-Oct-17 11:57:22

Wonder how many people with dogs call out 'good bitch, come here good bitch' .

True how would you know I am grieving for one of my bitches Trisher, or as they are very dear friends and companions I call them girls, suppose just as you call your friends bitches.

trisher Sun 29-Oct-17 11:37:17

You mentioned calling them girls Annie how was I to know?
I was taught lots of things as a child many of which I have moderated as I got older.

Anniebach Sun 29-Oct-17 11:32:54

Trisher, I only have one dog now , good try at digging in wounds though.

Not modelled on the queen, just taught foul language is not acceptable.

Anniebach Sun 29-Oct-17 11:29:07

No difference, he a labour MP stood on the stage in the 02 and used foul language, no excuse for this, try as you will to excuse it.

trisher Sun 29-Oct-17 11:27:33

Oh Anniebach it is good to know we still have people who maintain standards. I would imagine yours are modelled on our gracious queen. Personally I think I'll stick to something more practical. Mind you I do seem to remember you call your dogs "girls" don't suppose you see the irony in that.

durhamjen Sun 29-Oct-17 11:22:12

So why do you use that word so much if it offends you?

There is no difference between losers and losers.
There is a difference betwen losers and as plotters they were useless.

Anniebach Sun 29-Oct-17 11:12:07

Jen, what is the difference between f****g losers and f*****g losers. Do you not understand it is the use of such language that is offensive to me,i accept not to you, you are free to use such language and I am free to say it is foul

Anniebach Sun 29-Oct-17 11:08:29

Not with the young people in my life, again it depends on standards of the individual. I would not tolerate anyone calling a woman in our circle a bitch but you said you call women in your circle bitches Trisher , so it really is down to ones own standards on what is or isn't acceptable.

How can anyone complain that women are not respected yet think calling them a bitch is acceptable ?

durhamjen Sun 29-Oct-17 11:07:48

Annie, thanks for the link. If you read the rest of it, you will see that McDonnell didn't say they were f****ing losers, as you continually rant about.

He said, "As plotters they were f***ing useless."

Not quite the same, is it?

durhamjen Sun 29-Oct-17 11:04:04

Annie, I have never responded to your comment about f****ing losers, because I never use that word.
I have now, and no I don't agree that Hillary Benn is one, but I can't believe that's what McDonnell meant.

Why do you never attack Tories on Gransnet?
Why do you always attack socialists?

You must agree that Corbyn has done more for the Labour Party than Kinnock ever did.
More members, more support.
Of course, people like you can easily change all that by trying to get socialists to agree that they will never support the Labour Party while Corbyn is leader. That's what you are trying to do on here, by turning every thread you can into an anti-Corbyn rant.

What good will that do you or the party you say you support?

trisher Sun 29-Oct-17 10:58:58

The problem is that what you regard as foul mouthed Day 6 is regarded by many young people as just everyday language. It is a unfortunate that they voice their protests in such a way but I don't think we should necessarily expect them to moderate their language. Much better to understand where that language and anger is coming from and listen to the very real complaints they voice.

durhamjen Sun 29-Oct-17 10:58:20

Jeremy Hunt said today that as a conservative he believes that good public services are the moral purpose of a strong capitalist society.

Now that's hypocrisy.

durhamjen Sun 29-Oct-17 10:56:45

Of course I bash the conservative government, Day6.
That's what socialists are supposed to do, not fascists, although you will notice that Farage and the kippers did their fair share of that.

I find it strange that kippers know more about Momentum than I do.

Day6 Sun 29-Oct-17 10:52:46

DJ. It's about hypocrisy, Annie. You obviously can't recognise it.

Perhaps DurhamJen you don't recognise that you won't have any criticism of Momentum or the Labour party? Most of your contributions, no matter what the topic, you go bashing the Conservative government.

Many people, me included, worry about Momentum. It's not a part of the Labour party I embrace. It's almost fascist in its zeal - full of hatred for those who refuse to recognise it. Moderate Labour is being pushed aside by these 'young' and often foul-mouthed, aggressive extremists.

Anniebach Sun 29-Oct-17 10:24:57

Jen, do you agree that the likes of .Hilary Benn are f*****g losers?

Anniebach Sun 29-Oct-17 10:22:14

No Jen, you are mistaken, he phoned to say he was repeating what others said about killing her not about calling her a stain on humanity.

www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/sep/25/mcdonnell-defends-calling-female-mp-stain-of-inhumanity-esther-mcvey

Anniebach Sun 29-Oct-17 10:18:42

Why are you so shocked about that joke but thought the Clive Lewis joke! was acceptable? Me thinks nothing to do with standards of what is or isn't acceptable but one is a Tory MP and one a Corbynite

durhamjen Sun 29-Oct-17 10:17:35

John McDonnell has phoned up the Marr programme to say he was repeating what other people had said about Esther McVey and that he doesn't think it.
Sorry about that, Annie.

durhamjen Sun 29-Oct-17 10:14:28

So what do you say about Kinnock's comments on the Today programme?
I am sure you have said that you listen to it.
What did you think when you heard it?

Anniebach Sun 29-Oct-17 10:08:35

So do all Corbynites here think supporting the IRA was acceptable? Just a yes or no.
