It is ridiculous to lambast a person for having been divorced. There are many MPs - men and women - who have been divorced or had affairs, some of which affairs have resulted in children being born to women other than their wives.

If we are to judge people - inside and outside parliament - by such criteria, many will be found wanting. In my view, unless a person has been found guilty of a criminal act against a spouse, such issues are nobody else's business but the people involved.

As for Corbyn has been speaking out for years against harassment, he spoke out for years for peace and supported the IRA at the same time.

Will there be changes for the better, we ask ourselves? I do hope the level of public discussion on the issue will lead to improvement.
Sexual harassment, racism, abuse of power are a large part of societies anywhere. At least here in the UK, we have laws that offer some protection. It's the societal norms and conflict about when something is 'banter' or being a 'tactile' person that complicates things.
Sometimes I feel despairing that we make 2 steps forward and 3 back but reflect on the positive changes during my lifetime and buck up a bit.

I was shocked but not surprised at Gove's "joke". I heard it re-played several times on the radio news. Only once was it followed by the next bit of the recording in which we heard Neil Kinnock enjoying Gove's ill judged "joke". I've no problem with NK enjoying humour from someone who is loathsome, if it had been funny rather than offensive on so many levels.

Just one thing I find upsetting, among many, the party conference . Have been to so many over the years , the friendliness , yes there were disagreements on policies but none of the separation of groups there have now, everything controlled and no freedom of speech now, the MP's stayed for the whole conference, now many didn't bother to turn up. The leaders speech and the hall was filled with MP's, Party members, even ex leaders, all had something to offer. Now it's a few days of Corbyn worship. Yes the young are gathering, but they did for Clegg until they felt let down, they moved on and the lib Party left in bits. Corbyn has to promise the young what ever they want to get their votes because if it was left to the ordinary voter country wide we would be back in the wilderness years .
