Whitewave, yet another PROJECT FEAR tactic.
Brexit is NOT causing devastation. People who have difficulties had them long before we voted to leave the EU.
Life has always been difficult for many people, in my lifetime. It is NOT a new thing so once again you try to smear our exit from the EU as the cause.
You are transparent.
It is not a happy situation to have people facing difficulties but do not insult us by suggesting if we had voted to remain in the EU those difficulties wouldn't be there.
In the years to come, every government we have will attempt to address those problems. In my lifetime six decades and counting - not a Tory or Labour government has eradicated those financial and social problems.
Do not insult us by suggesting the EU has been a panacea for all ills!

I see the EU Remainers' PROJECT FEAR is alive and well.
(1001 Posts)I look forward to us leaving the EU.
The scare-mongering Remainers write post after post predicting how awful it will be. (Yes, predicting...)
Anyone would think we were incapable of knowing right from wrong and desperately in need of Brussels to guide us, to make our laws, to impose trading tariffs, generally control us, tell us who we have to accept into the country and take BILLIONS from us for the privilege of that control.
Project Fear - we have recognised it.
We need to get on with leaving the EU, pronto, but Remainers delight in the delays, mostly caused by terrified EU officials worried about EU budgets and the UK forging ahead without it's stranglehold.
Optimism rules. Let's bin Project Fear. We see it for what it is.
It's interesting Whitewave.
My son works on a global project (partly government financed) and his co-workers come from all over the world. Their companies are seeking premises in London and his European co-workers believe the UK is the place to be. Several are from France and Spain btw and do not share your love of the EU. (They are not 'thick' btw, as you seem to assume all those with a dislike of your precious EU tend to be.)
They will go where the project takes them but many have happily made the UK their home.
So focusing on my last sentence without acknowledging the difficulty and devastation that Brexit is causing to people livelihood and standard of living, is the way to go is it!?
"Sneering at these worries is unpleasant and simply shows the ignorance that so many who voted for Brexit are functioning under."
Oh don't make me smile Whitewave! Such hypocrisy!!
You Remainers are experts in the sneering stakes! You have sneered at Leavers, and painted them as your inferiors, from day one!
You lost and now seek to vilify Leavers as stupid and ignorant. A Project Fear tactic again.
Many people who voted Leave look to a better future once we are free of the EU vice-like grip.
I weighed up the options (you always assume Leavers cannot read or understand the implications - more sneering from Remainers) and now the Government has a mandate from the people and is working to get us out of the EU. It is democracy in action whether you like it or not.
Heaven forbid that Leavers have a modicum of understanding and knowledge. Hell, that would really upset the aloof Remoaners' apple cart.
And sneering at those who voted to leave and constantly portraying them as ignorant is just as unpleasant whitewave.
I take my hat off to the few leavers who continue to post on the political threads regarding Brexit despite the treatment they receive.
I voted leave and if there's a second referendum I'll vote leave again. If the majority, regardless of how small that majority is votes to remain then so be it. I'll be disappointed but I wont be coming on GN and insulting the intelligence of those who voted to remain.
No it was the Liberals who bargained that with the Tories n the coalition, in return forvsupporting the Tories in stuff they wanted to achieve.
I think that because the government drew so many unthoughtthrough red lines, they have made life unnecessarily difficult in their negotiations.
A soft Brexit honours the referendum, and would deal immediately with retaking the union.
Another positive. Many of my pensioner friends no longer pay tax on their hard-earned occupational pensions. Many pensions fall below the tax threshold.
As many of us know, living on a small income once we retire can mean pensioners have to budget carefully.
Many pensioners with better occupational pensions pay a lot less tax too, as do the lowest paid workers. They have the Conservative government to thank for that.
My children won’t be going to chamonix or anywhere where else day6 whilst they watch the devastation that your vote brought to the country.
One of my children is listening as her company is busy making plans to move to Paris and wondering whether she will have a job in the near future.
The other is wondering how much of the projects he has and is undertaking that have been so well funded by the EU, will be able to continue.
Sneering at these worries is unpleasant and simply shows the ignorance that so many who voted for Brexit are functioning under.
"Tories just run things so they can make more money"
Oh so negatively biased.
You mean that silly thing the government did recently like removing the expense of stamp duty from affordable, first time buyer houses, and regulating greedy landlords so those who rent get a better deal? Didn't Milliband want that?
Government bashing, no matter what, is another part of the mainly left-wing Project Fear campaign.
Why does everyone keep using Hermione as an example? She doesn't like it, I tell you!!
and she's not going skiing
Oh bless.
The Remainers have even concocted a dismal advent calendar. Why am I not surprised!!
I can see them sitting in their drawing rooms in Islington with their Christmas lights spluttering before finally going out, but never mind, they have their expensive coffee and can tell Rupert and Hermoine to open the next doom flap on the Remainer advent calendar to yet another dreadful prediction. They rub their hands as yet more gloom descends. By day ten they have had enough misery and decide to jet off to Chamonix for a spot of skiing.
Oh it's not just a theory lemon Dave suffered at their hands
Except the '22 exert huge amounts of influence over the Tory leadership. It would be hard to exaggerate the role of the '22 executive in Britain leaving the EU. When Cameron agreed to a EU referendum in January 2013, it was to unite the dissident backbenches and see off potential challenges to his authority; challenges that would have been led by the 1922 executive, almost all of whom are staunch Europhobes.
When they're not leading us into another recession, the '22 get to decide the small matter of who will be our next Prime Minister. May was only confirmed as Tory leader after Brady consulted with the 1922 membership.
Isn't it funny that all the right wing press focus on left wing activism whilst the Tories just run things so they can make more money. Laughing all the way to the bank!!
Jura, you are getting confused. (It probably comes from scouring the news online every five minutes for something negative to report.)
Your 'I need proof" is a Remainer ploy as we all well know. In other words you want Leavers to defend their vote (when they have no obligation to at all) You can paraphrase almost all posts in any forum where Remoaners are active - They throw around "Explain in 30,000 words or more why you wanted to leave the EU" They cannot defend the iniquitous European Union without their crystal balls because they like to PREDICT the future.
You Remoaners have been rumbled.
I read somewhere recently that the term "Remainer" reeks of timidity and a desire to retain the status quo despite the majority wanting to move on - They have a desire to pick from the leftovers of a cold meal, long finished. Quite a good analogy I thought.
trisher that really is a conspiracy theory too far.
Ah, but as Day 6 would say 'Do you have proof that this is happening?' - do you?
How can you ask if it was 'Project Fear' when it is turning out to be just as the two ex Prime Ministers said? So no Boris was not right. It was Project Truth but some will still not listen.
So was that project fear, or was that the truth - and was BoJo right?

No ww but there are a lot of MPs who know they will make lots of money when the country goes into recession. The 1922 committee knew what they were doing when they pushed Dave into a referendum.
Day 5 of the Brexit advent calender.
The Brexit vote has already made British households an average of £400 per year worse off.
Did we vote for that?
There are 63 scheduled flights a day between the U.K. and Brussels, so why does Davis feel the need for a private jet?
Gravy train?
Hardly matters one way or another at the moment, more important things happening.
Getting back to reality
The department of trade has said that the idea of cutting and pasting the EU trade deals onto deals with the row as we were assured by Fox would be so simple is proving much more difficult than we were told it would be.
The department is falling very severely behind.
I doubt that they have achieved a single one.
The clock is ticking
So Jc’s support for a united Ireland just a figment if your imagination? Thought so.
Fortunately, he isn’t in that position of power.
