Hope this is not “fake news” but relief from the endless speculation.
Good luck to them! ??

How cruel, nasty sick, The Telegraph has experts! Giving their opinion on how long the marriage will last, one expert! Is a hand writing specialist another an astrologer, readers of their website have to pay to see what these experts! say.

Vile.

Not necessarily what you say, but certainly how you say it. How do you say parasite nicely?!!!

Baggs Tue 28-Nov-17 21:47:22

Is tasteless joking/name-calling (Waity Katie, clothes horse, etc) equal to hate? I'd say not. It's unpleasant but hate is far more than unpleasant.

There's also some truth in each of those sobriquets.

I'm now pondering whether it's actually a problem if someone hates the monarchy and its representatives. Why would it be worse than someone loving it/them? If you can 'allow' the latter, then you must 'allow' the formerjust to cover the full spectrum of human attitudes to such things.

On which profoundly philosophical note, I'm off to bed ? moon

They seem a nice enough young couple, and I hope they have a happy life together.
Having said that, I think that the Royals are spoiled to an enormous and rather unecessary degree.
It does seem unfortunate that so very much is spent on them all when our country is in such a distressed state.
It’s not their fault I suppose, so we must make the best of things and enjoy the show!

I can certainly understand people objecting to the monarchy as an institution, and wanting a republic, but to hate people on a personal individual level because of who they are is unnecessary and deeply unpleasant. Bit like hating any group of people simply because of the situation they're born into!

Kate and William were an item for quite a long time, she did have a job but had the press following her so sensible girl stayed at home . The mocking of her as Waity Katie was nasty, they wanted to marry but there was much to think about, they were not going to marry, find jobs and buy a three bedroomed house. Yes they are all privileged, I get ratty about the cost of so many houses needing 24 hour a day police protection, but no way do I envy their lives .

I have said queenie is so wrong to have so much wealth and so many homes when we have homeless yet she cannot start paying for hostels to be built , she would be accused of supporting which every party was in power, so I have at times judged her unfairly.

Haven't looked at the court circular for such a long time , see how many engagements they all do.

nigglynellie Tue 28-Nov-17 20:55:12

The RF, not RH.

nigglynellie Tue 28-Nov-17 20:53:18

Maybe not, but using personal insults to attack a young woman who has never done you any harm is particularly spiteful, whether she did or did not have a 'proper' job isn't anybody's business but hers. Her education is equally nothing to do with you Maryeliz or anyone else come to that. The RH are not parasites, and using that vile word makes you sound bitter and very unpleasant.

suzied Tue 28-Nov-17 20:52:33

We can do without all the mugs and tea towels surely. Just let them get on with their lives without all the hysteria. We like her, we like him. end of.

Baggs Tue 28-Nov-17 20:47:30

I wouldn't know, iam. I just knew the terms existed.

NanaandGrampy Tue 28-Nov-17 20:46:18

Great point Nannylovesshopping!!

Baggs Tue 28-Nov-17 20:46:08

BTW, I don't seem to have an opinion about the newly engaged couple. I don't wish them ill, nor do I wish them well any more than I wish every other engaged couple that I don't know well. I don't wish them anything. I think that means I'm indifferent. This is neither negative nor positive. It is neutral.

I think.

Iam64 Tue 28-Nov-17 20:45:26

I expect NLS knows that Baggs. It was often used by the Daily Hate- that well known newspaper that loves to put young women down at any opportunity.

Baggs Tue 28-Nov-17 20:42:46

meliza didn't invent the term "waity katie", NLS.

Baggs Tue 28-Nov-17 20:41:37

Diana got called a clothes horse too.

durhamjen Tue 28-Nov-17 20:25:38

Arlene Foster did well, didn't she, considering she is an ardent royalist!

Nannylovesshopping Tue 28-Nov-17 20:22:04

maryelizeok, as this is a society that allows for free speech, you sure are coming across as a nasty piece of work

maryeliza54 Tue 28-Nov-17 20:18:17

And yes she has done collective harm along with that bunch of parasites with their inherited rank, status and privilege.

maryeliza54 Tue 28-Nov-17 20:17:07

I know she never had a proper job despite her very expensive education. I know all the attention she gets from how she looks and the clothes she wears. I don’t need to know her to know those facts and in a society that allows for free speech I can say what I want about her and the very idea that it’s unfair because she can't retort hahahahahahsha. Perhaps you could explain the concept of a level playing field to me niggly

nigglynellie Tue 28-Nov-17 20:11:10

Waity, Katie, clothes horse! Maryeliz, Oh dear, what a cheap horrible comment! Reduced to making unpleasant personal comments about somebody you don't know, has never done you any harm and who has no means of retort, surely you can do better than that?!

Stella14 Tue 28-Nov-17 20:08:08

Well said Saggi! I didn’t get started on the Church, but
I’m with you on that too!

Jalima1108 Tue 28-Nov-17 19:51:39

Oh
confusing!

aka Princess Pushy I believe

Anniebach Tue 28-Nov-17 19:44:13

He is Prince Henry of Wales Jalima, if William hadn't become a duke Kate would have been Princess William of Wales, it why Windsor princes become dukes, Prince Michael of Kent remained the same so she is Princess Michael
