Gilly, there are three women a week murdered in domestic abuse but a girl wearing skimpy clothes and perhaps a man touching their bottom causes more anger . I want equality for women but this means accepting some women choose to make a living wearing skimpy clothes and serving drinks .

Equality means equality among women as well as between women and men.

I’m wondering if certain extreme feminists won’t be happy until our granddaughters are all wearing the Burka .

Could it be based on jealousy that some women seem use against each other . Someone saying “ I wouldn’t lower myself “ when infact you are plain and dumpy so they wouldn’t want you anyway

How is there equality in one group of women causing another group of women to,lose their jobs. So easy for women for who have had a good education to tell girls to get an education, or do a decent job like cleaning or stacking shelves.

I think this is more to do with some feminists disapproving of their sisters using their looks and figure instead of their brain.

Sorry gillybob my post was being written whilst you were writing about your husband's experiences. That's the point isn't it - that kind of behaviour is unpleasant to say the least and could damage the more vulnerable amongst us.

If you really can't see why "they have felt the need to stop the brolly dollies in formula 1" gillybob - there seems no point in anyone trying to elaborate on issues around the objectification of women, the need for greater equality and respect between the sexes, the fact that women and men can and do behave badly towards each other.

Oppression is oppression is oppression. Whether its by a patriarchal society, or "feminists" deciding what is and isn't appropriate for others.

My late husbands first job was in a large office ( where we met) he was only one of maybe a dozen men ( managers of course) working with 100’s of women of all ages. They nipped his bum, they made lewd comments, grabbed him and god knows what else . Luckily he had a fantastic sense of humour and perfected the “ put down” but anyone a bit shyer would have been thoroughly miserable.

Where is equality in all this, some women disapprove of work chosen by other women and jobs are lost, all in the pretence of saving these women who haven't asked to be saved

The treatment some of these women experienced is totally out of order, however, can we not tar all the men there with the same brush or accuse them of lying if they say they saw nothing untoward. I can be in a room with 50 people and not see or know what is happening the other side of that room.

Whilst we are talking about groping, I wonder whether this is an accusation which can be made against Fern Britton who is pictured today grabbing Alastair Stewart, almost knocking him off his feet and kissing him.

There are some quite famous and rich women who started their modelling careers as being brolly dollies for formula 1 .

I stand by my points eloethan . The woman’s right to earn money however she likes.
But let’s remember that this sort of demeaning “Work” is surely the opposite to being liberated. They were effectively working as teasers to get the men to shell out more money .

Working for a couple of days at a formula one or similar event is not a profession, it’s casual work, maybe well paid, but it’s not a year round “job” that these poor women are being denied. Maybe they’ll employ men and women in equal numbers to hold up the odd placard if it’s essential.

The reporters could have taken photographs , who filmed the video we have seen ?

Lots of the men at this dinner would also have been at a similar event at the Tory party conference every year.
They didn't behave like that at the conferences, so what gave them the right to behave like that at this fund-raising event?

How could there be any photos? The girls had their phones taken from them (and there was certainly nowhere in their 'uniforms' where they could hide one)

Have you read the original article by the Financial Times journalist who went undercover?

I guess that will be the job of the investigator & what ever visual evidence is available, the visual evidence will be the most telling I would think
