May now asking for EU countries to stick together against Russia.
Has she forgotten about Brexit?

Poverty of ideas
Poverty of economy
It seems that NI is as useless said to stay in the Single Market according to EU draft.
Expect a major row from the headbangers and denial from Number 10
Round and around we go.

Sorry, tegan, should have written
The banks....
I imagine it's because they are a large part of the economy and have been since Thatcher decided we would no longer be a manufacturing country which would have meant investing in education and training, in the North and in infrastructure but in London and the South East by investing in service industries.
I appreciate the "money" is partly what the economy is about but surely it should be about what it can achieve for the people the government is supposed to represent too.
Why do people like Banks have such a say in what happens to this country; is that democracy [not in my book]?. Seems to be a case of 'who has the most money'.

Banks still not happy about the transition, or whatever May likes to call it these days.
www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-03-21/top-u-k-court-won-t-tell-government-how-to-word-brexit-bill
Of course they will not help the government.
They are supposed to be independent. May should have had lawmakers in her cabinet, rather than idiots.
She should have had lawyers in the Brexit negotiations, rather than ex-servicemen, and Boris.
Thanks?

That's a lot of building not being done.

No Brexit getting closer.
Surely now the activities of organisations such as CA have come to light, and we're aware how fb and other social media can be used to sell everything from handbags to a political viewpoint, forewarned is forearmed?
Thinking members of the general populace will gain an understanding and that takes the power away or at least diminishes it?
As I understand it, CA have been manipulating data sets. That's not in itself personal information.
Not only do we know more about it, but we can use our knowledge to try and help. That's a good thing to do.
FB was the go to place for information...true information about the Scottish referendum. We got no facts from the MSM and on FB we formed groups that resulted in marches of up to 25000 people in Glasgow .Still those marches were wrongly reported ,at one while Buchanan Street was crammed from the "steps" to Argyle street ...with saltire waving singing Nationalists the press were interviewing Jim Murphy and a dozen unionist supporters round the corner with no mention of the demo just out of sight and hearing .Thankfully it was all videod as it happened and shown live on FB .
It's weird but interesting isn't it Tegan. Like you with your t-shirted friend I have a friend on FB who I met on as sewing forum. We have now met but she posts things I never see elsewhere about homeless people and Syria. I like that.
I don't know how much we would enjoy the narrow world of the past now. I am really sorry you feel it is a horrible place. I am still telling myself it is no worse than it ever was but we know more about it. I'm not sure I am convincing myself though.
No; I really do feel that way. It's only through facebook that I've found out about rallies/marches etc. I've made a very good friend via facebook who was on a totally non political page but was wearing EU t shirts/armbands etc. I have no idea about how most people I know 'in the real world' vote these days [where I live, that is], other than an ex friend who I know was UKIP. It's different when I'm up north as everyone we know there are remainers, and it was such a relief to find out, one by one what their beliefs were. I really don't want to mix with anyone who voted for brexit; I know that sounds bad but I'm being honest about it. I honestly don't know how I would cope with it all if I was still working [although, I guess I'd just have to]. I just find this country a horrible place to live in these days..
.
It's only through facebook that I have been speaking to/meeting like minded people
Was that a joke or do you really feel that way Tegan2? I am not being sarcastic I really don't know how you meant it. I wonder if people do feel cut off in RL from those who share their political views? The days of the club buildings, run by parties, seems to be long gone. Perhaps it's one more of the changes in how we run our social lives these days and we will have to find a way to come to terms with the change.

This group has been given permission to go to the Scottish courts for them to decide whether article 50 can be revoked.
Fingers crossed.
facebook was used to elect Trump and bring about brexit. It's only through facebook that I have been speaking to/meeting like minded people [other than on here, of course]. To delete my account would just be playing into the hands of organisations such as Vote Leave etc. I'm very careful what I say on the internet anyway; at this moment it's the only thing that gives me a 'voice'....
Today the drama queen is going to treat us to this unedifying spectacle

At last some sense.
The Lords have ruled that the government must not withdraw from Eurotom until an alternative is in place.
All those cancer sufferers, scientists etc can breath a sigh of relief that their treatment and work can continue.
Perhaps the Tories who sit on the board?
It seems I'm not the only person suspicious about the length of time taken for the IC tobget a warrant

Who is protecting them?
