Poverty of ideas
Poverty of economy

It seems that NI is as useless said to stay in the Single Market according to EU draft.

Expect a major row from the headbangers and denial from Number 10

Round and around we go.

God knows the country is going to the dogs

What has happened to the U.K. postal service? I get statements from a couple of Banks in the U.K. and they have stamps and franking Marks from Germany or Holland - initially I thought it was a one off but it is not - every month the same.

MargaretX Tue 27-Mar-18 19:03:36

Today I received information from e-bay that in future my dealings with them (in Germany) will go through another European banking system which does no longer include the UK and Northern Island.
I seems Brexit is almost here.

"But Defra has let fishermen sell most of our quota to foreign firms"

You couldn't make it up, could you? UK fishermen sell their quota to foreign firms, then complain that "Defra let them do it" and the nasty EU is ruining their industry.

I wonder if Gove knows!

whitewave Tue 27-Mar-18 18:37:09

Report in Times. I wonder if the Welsh know?

You can’t get away with this remark May. This has been told to you for the past 2 years.

What do they care? Brexit at all costs, no matter how much it damages our country.

Amid all the nonsense, Labour starts the right fight on Brexit

I think you should be able to copy this elsewhere if you want to whitewave.

I think Starmer is reaching his stride. Good chap.

Amid all the nonsense Labour starts the right fight on Brexit

Just beginning to look at the other article

GracesGranMK2 Mon 26-Mar-18 12:50:46

Where is the article whitewave? I will happily make a link for you.

whitewave Mon 26-Mar-18 12:34:48

Ian Dunt has written an article in politics about a really smart idea that Starmer has over Brexit.

If I start a new thread it would be good to begin with something optimistic so can someone blue Dunt article for me please.

I see that the EU has totally rejected Mays plan for post Brexit trade negotiations.

But they are talking about freezing U.K. out of the next round of contracts - if they follow through logically it will probably mean not having access to the program for security reasons. Isn’t there a big base doing a lot of the work on Galileo in the South of U.K.?

durhamjen Mon 26-Mar-18 10:07:02

We might be able to, but we'll have to pay a lot more for it, Welshwife.

Welshwife Mon 26-Mar-18 09:57:33

But it was all going to be so easy to keep access to all these important things.

whitewave Mon 26-Mar-18 09:29:40

Today it is Galileo. In recent months it’s been aviation, medicines, chemicals, Euratom, Erasmus, Europoort, European arrest warrant, sanctions against Russia

The article went on to say an ally of Mr Davis said the Defence Secretary’s boasts about gunboats patrolling British waters were “mad".
A Tory Minister added, “Just as things were calming down, Gavin blunders in”.

MaizieD Sun 25-Mar-18 23:19:27

P.S What a stunningly beautiful plane Concorde is.

MaizieD Sun 25-Mar-18 23:17:39

They'll have to speed up to get to six hours.

They'll get that Concorde out of mothballs... We've got seven dotted around the UK apparently
