The Lindo Wing have put up no parking signs 9th to 30th April. Barriers have been set up.

I do hope it's an uncomplicated and quick birth. Not days of news showing the doors into the wing, and interviews with excited royalists .

I haven’t read any “vitriolic” comments niggly just different views .

I get that some newspapers seem to rejoice in winding up the public with headlines such as “ Kate start her maternity leave” etc.
When we all know she doesn’t have a job to take maternity leave from .

nigglynellie Fri 13-Apr-18 09:28:09

I don't think Katherine can help what some idiotic news outlet writes about her! I expect she would find this comment as stupid as we do!
I think it's sad to be vitriolic on a personal level about people who can't help the family they're born into or the situation they are in. None of us can help that, and who knows whether the younger royals wouldn't prefer to be anonymous, but are stuck where they are thanks to public opinion!
To equate HM with Marie Antoinette is nothing short of ridiculous, even more so as M.A didn't makes this comment. Marie Theres (sp) wife of Louis 1Vth was the culprit here!

It really made me quite mad pensionpat ! When I see my poor daughter still working at 37 + weeks ( just so she can get to spend more time with the baby once it arrives before she is forced to go back) . Commuting backwards and forwards by public transport everyday then spending another 8 hours on her feet .
Her last day is Saturday and it can’t come soon enough !

That’s going on maternity leave !

I agree with Gillybob. I thought it hilarious to read that Kate was going on maternity leave.

forgive megagsy I dont understand the whole royal fascination/worship that goes on.I dont for a second think they are better than any other person or that they deserve special treatment. When the country and the world is going to the dogs the last thing we need is kings and queens who neither understand or care about the people in their realm.Queenie on record this week telling everyone how she thinks we should all plant stuff to save the planet....joke..millions cant afford to feed their families or put a roof over their heads. All smacks a bit of Marie Antoinette !! Overprivileged..pampered wastes of good air !!

gillybob Thu 12-Apr-18 23:11:34

Being a Royal is not a job though gagsy this is what I don’t understand .

Having a job is answering to someone else, having to turn in when feeling ill or else maybe not getting paid, having to be there even when the whole world is falling down around you, having to pay someone to look after you children, dreading the children being ill for fear of not being able to go to work and risk either not being paid or even worse..... that’s having a job .

None of the royals have, or will ever have, a job.

gagsy Thu 12-Apr-18 22:27:59

I was saddened by your comment Paddyann: I agree every baby is important, and I wouldn’t want the job of a Royal, wherever I lived- being looked at, criticised and my clothes costed, however hard I tried, well or ill. Most lives have pluses and minuses. I also feel very strongly that the major Royals have far more pluses. My father was very wise and always said don’t always look over your shoulder at what you perceive others to have as there is room in the world for everyone! Live and let live and good luck to them. Also before someone says they get better treatment than everyone else I have needed a lot of input from the NHS recently, GP, hospital, scans etc. and I couldn’t have had better care if I had been the Queen!!

It'll never be John - poor little Prince John, and wicked King John, remember Arthur of Brittany - no body, and now never will be! Any day now all will be revealed!!

Jalima1108 Wed 11-Apr-18 15:33:13

I hope

Jalima1108 Wed 11-Apr-18 15:33:02

We'll be away for The Wedding too

Having not received an invitation I am having a sulk, so a nice trip will put me in a good mood grin

maryeliza54 Wed 11-Apr-18 15:32:48

I could tell you but then I’d have to shoot you obvs- no just rich friends with a huge country estate

gillybob Wed 11-Apr-18 15:28:13

Oops I meant 8th May not April . Thank you Jalima smile

lemongrove Wed 11-Apr-18 15:24:09

Mafia? grin

maryeliza54 Wed 11-Apr-18 15:20:39

Maybe she’s given birth secretly already? I actually didn’t realise it was already past the 9th blush! How well : that theory’s bit the dust. I ran away very successfully for their wedding - I have the contacts

Jalima1108 Wed 11-Apr-18 15:15:40

maryeliza not sure where you could run to - this will be worldwide!
ps re the red herring 9th has gone - you don't think they are back at home again do you?

All the best to gillybob's DD

gillybob Wed 11-Apr-18 15:08:46

Oh dear , My DD’s baby is due in the 8th .

maryeliza54 Wed 11-Apr-18 14:59:02

Imo these signs are a red herring and she will give birth before the 9th. I just wish I knew so I could run away for a few days as I am for the wedding.

DanniRae Wed 11-Apr-18 14:33:04

Oh, if it's a girl I hope they name her Victoria - my darling daughter is called Victoria!!
Mind you the last Princess was named after my dog - she is Charlotte and my darling dog is Lottie grin
What ever sex the baby I hope all goes well for them - I think they are a lovely little family!!

Maggiemaybe Wed 11-Apr-18 09:16:28

Different times though, Annie. Did you see the Poliakoff film about him? It’s one of my favourites.

I think they’d be put off the name more by the history of King John, who wasn’t a roaring success.

But hey, 100 to 1? Worth a quid of anyone’s money, I’d say!

gillybob Wed 11-Apr-18 09:13:34

I'm rather liking Spudulika (Harry Enfield anyone?)

As they say in all the best wine bars, when one orders a glass of white... "ABC Darling " (Anything But Chardonnay). wink

Anniebach Wed 11-Apr-18 09:11:52

I loved Blackadder, had an affinity with Baldrick ?

Anniebach Wed 11-Apr-18 09:08:50

Doubt John, there hasn't been one since the little prince John who was kept from the public eye .

Maggiemaybe Wed 11-Apr-18 09:08:43

Or Princess Waynetta? I really can’t think why it’s out there at 200 to 1. grin

absent Wed 11-Apr-18 06:29:13

I love it – HRH Princess Chardonnay. Truly a royal of the twenty-first century.

Maggiemaybe Wed 11-Apr-18 00:24:13

I have bets on Matilda and John. Only because they both had odds of 100 to 1. Like Chardonnay and Wayne. grin
