The Lindo Wing have put up no parking signs 9th to 30th April. Barriers have been set up.

I do hope it's an uncomplicated and quick birth. Not days of news showing the doors into the wing, and interviews with excited royalists .

Oh thanks kitty -I had no idea. Just been to look and see both babies have now arrived safely. I'm so pleased.

kittylester Mon 30-Apr-18 08:30:28

gilly and ga are both at (or going to) the hospital and are posting updates on the 'in other baby news' thread.

pollyperkins Mon 30-Apr-18 08:27:34

Let us know when your DDs baby arrives Gillybob. Hope all goes well.

Jalima1108 Mon 23-Apr-18 21:12:57

I would not wish this on my daughters!!

Granny23 Mon 23-Apr-18 12:48:09

I can't imagine how horrible it must be to have half the world knowing you are in Labour and hoping you hurry up. It reminds me of the days when Queens had to labour with the Court watching to ensure that the baby did in fact arrive via the royal personage and was not substituted by an imposter.

kittylester Mon 23-Apr-18 12:17:05

We've got a Bertie too, ga!

Hope all goes well.

gillybob Mon 23-Apr-18 12:16:43

I've been on permanent standby for a call from my own pregnant daughter for the past week and am ready to dash off as soon as the call comes

Yes me too grannyactivist I even stopped myself from having a well deserved glass of wine on Saturday night as she said she's had twinges all day. My DD's partner is not allowed a mobile phone at work and he does very long shifts too so not sure how that's going to fit into our plans.

Still, the royals in their £7k+ per night private wing, don't have to consider such things though.

nigglynellie Mon 23-Apr-18 12:15:02

Good luck to your DD too ga, I hope all goes we for her and her baby. Bertie is a good name!

grannyactivist Mon 23-Apr-18 12:10:12

My daughter is hoping the new HRH is not going to be called Bertie, as that's the diminutive of her next baby's chosen name. (Not Albert though.)

Anniebach Mon 23-Apr-18 10:09:23

Bets on the other thread for sex and name ?

grannyactivist Mon 23-Apr-18 10:07:47

I've been on permanent standby for a call from my own pregnant daughter for the past week and am ready to dash off as soon as the call comes. My other grandchildren have all been early babies, but this one's due date is on Friday so she's taking it to the wire. The Wonderful Man is working away today so we have a complex plan for me to meet him part-way via train (her hospital is an hour away from both her and me), then he will drive me to the hospital before going to collect the grandchildren from school.

She'd better get on with it and knock Brexit off the top BBC headline spot!

glammanana Mon 23-Apr-18 09:20:19

Grandma70s I'm thinking of
Victoria or Alice what do you think.
AnnieI forgot about this thread I've posted on both hmm

Smileless2012 Mon 23-Apr-18 09:17:52

Too late Annie, I posted on your other thread before I realised this was one was already on the go. Methinks you're not the only one suffering from old agegrin.

Grandma70s Mon 23-Apr-18 09:12:36

I’m very interested in what name the child will be given, especially if it’s a girl.

Anniebach Mon 23-Apr-18 08:34:47

merlotgran Mon 23-Apr-18 08:31:27

Jalima1108 Mon 16-Apr-18 16:26:36

My older brother slept in a drawer

gillybob Mon 16-Apr-18 09:29:44

Why ask if you already know the answers gilly?!

Sorry niggly Just rambling as usual.

Anniebach Mon 16-Apr-18 09:17:06

Gilly, firsts thoughts of that 2.00am feed and I would have a night nursery with a nanny, then second thoughts, the cuddling, stroking the little cheek , singing Myfanwy whilst the world was asleep , no night nursery and nanny

MawBroon Mon 16-Apr-18 09:07:49

I recently met a very distinguished French gentleman of 93 who had been in the French Resistance. His father had fought at Verdun (and survived) and his paternal grandmother had seen Napoleon!

nigglynellie Mon 16-Apr-18 09:00:21

Why ask if you already know the answers gilly?! confused

annsixty Mon 16-Apr-18 08:48:21

Lemongrove we are an "old family" my father was born in January 1900, my mother in 1904, she died in 2006.
My paternal GM died aged 97 and my father's 4 sisters all live until their 80"s, one died at 98.
My father died at 49, when I was 11.
Totally off subject of course.?

gillybob Mon 16-Apr-18 08:42:06

Well I think we all know the answers anyway Annie smile
