A continuation of Momentum/Intertia/Magnetism/Elasticity but with a less scientific bias. grin

A thread about Corbyn. For lovers and haters.

I hope you are being supervised by an industrial safety officer who has attended the necessary lectures
DH could, but he has gone to the pub

Jalima1108 Wed 09-May-18 22:47:42

those pointy needles could cause injury.
With a bit of luck!

Oh, it doesn't work if you stab them at posts on the screen.
I didn't realise, silly me

Jalima1108 Wed 09-May-18 22:46:27

I do wonder if you are real, Grandad, or the figment of someone's vivid imagination.

a disenchanted old geezer.
and, despite claims to the contrary, a very old-fashioned geezer.

Oldwoman70 Wed 09-May-18 22:45:53

Jalima I hope you are being supervised by an industrial safety officer who has attended the necessary lectures - those pointy needles could cause injury.

Grandad1943 Wed 09-May-18 22:44:37

Somebody rattle your cage MawBroon??? (LOL)

MawBroon Wed 09-May-18 22:42:39

I clearly have a rogue spellchecker which has produced “it’s” instead of “its “ again. (Male perhaps?)

Grandad1943 Wed 09-May-18 22:41:30

I really am enjoying this for as long as it lasts

MawBroon Wed 09-May-18 22:41:01

You should witness the "written embellishments" our legal Secretary's write

“Your legal secretary’s “ what?
Even you must be aware of that particular howler.
I am not aware of knowing, let alone using any jargon from the DM or the Sun (does the latter HAVE words or merely pictures to titillate it’s male readers? Presumably you would know) )

Lay off the sexist and gratuitous insults, they do you no favours, negate any validity your arguments might have and come across as the meanderings of a disenchanted old geezer.

Grandad1943 Wed 09-May-18 22:38:52

Oh, I see that those that cannot take criticism mocking in kind to their own now report posts somthing I never do.

However, I shall continue to post as of the same, as each removal of posts or even a ban would be a victory to me (LOL)

lemongrove Wed 09-May-18 22:35:54

Jalima grin knit one for me too please?

lemongrove Wed 09-May-18 22:34:29

grin Oldwoman70

Grandad you hope to annoy with the LOLS I see, it’s a bit sad really, and I do wonder if ‘those four’ are figments of your imagination.
I shall simply ignore any posts from you in future, feel free to do the same with mine.

Jalima1108 Wed 09-May-18 22:34:10

I really don't know why you continue to engage with us, Grandad; we are all just dumb Sun-reading old grannies who can scarcely put pen to paper, let alone use voice recognition.

Off to knit a dishcloth, nothing I like better than a new dishcloth.

Anniebach Wed 09-May-18 22:34:01

Highly skilled, highly intelligent and highly paid, men in drag surely , not mere women

Jalima1108 Wed 09-May-18 22:30:01

is!!
grin
and get it double checked before presentation.

Jalima1108 Wed 09-May-18 22:29:28

It was always my understanding that court reports should be free of unnecessary embellishment and jargon.
A report containing straightforward facts written in a concise and understandable manner concluding with expert opinion are less confusing to a jury.

Oldwoman70 Wed 09-May-18 22:23:37

I remember a colleague once showing me something he considered funny, I pretended I agreed as I was too polite to say it sucked.

Grandad1943 Wed 09-May-18 22:21:16

MawBroon, as you use jargon from the Daily Mail and Sun it reasons that you must have access to those rags on a regular basis.

Also "And nobody, but nobody uses LOL these days" . Well, I most certainly do because I like to do so, it seems to annoy you and the emojis on this forum are rubbish (LOL)

In regard to written embellishments I have not even started at this point in time. You should witness the "written embellishments" our legal Secretary's write in their reports for the courts (LOL). Very highly skilled, highly paid and highly intelligent, and all four are women.

Great sense of humour those four also as they enjoyed the postings I shared with them from this forum today (LOL).

Anniebach Wed 09-May-18 22:03:58

Spare a thought for the poor sods who have to attend the lectures , at least we have a choice and yawn then move on

Day6 Wed 09-May-18 22:02:33

I believe that the above six posts or so demonstrate that there are those on this forum who are nothing short of a walking joke. They do not have "the capacity" to understand what any real discussion would entail

Ooooooh. Harsh, Grandad.

Now we are 'walking jokes'. Shock, horror!

Sorry, but I can't stop laughing. grin
You know when there was that one teacher that you could always wind up or get a reaction from?

Your response reflects poorly on you. You have picked holes in everyone who disagrees with you and your hectoring style and insults mean few can take you seriously either. Having a bit of fun and responding light-heartedly isn't against the T&Cs.

We'll be walking jokes. You can be the walking headmaster of the world.

Oldwoman70 Wed 09-May-18 22:01:53

So once again the biggest insult is that someone is a DM reader. That one is getting so old!

Grandad a word of advice, I have observed that those on GN who try to pretend they have greater knowledge and attempt to talk down to others are soon brought down to size.

I have also found that those with something worthwhile to say can explain themselves briefly and succinctly.

Jalima1108 Wed 09-May-18 21:51:27

Therefore, I will continue to post in kind.
GN could be down to one member

MawBroon Wed 09-May-18 21:47:48

And nobody, but nobody uses LOL these days ?

MawBroon Wed 09-May-18 21:47:03

Oh bo**ocks Grandad.
Not a DM or Sun or whatever reader. Not that it is anything to do with you.
ANY document, legal or otherwise can be written in clear, concise English. It is the hallmark of the undereducated to bard their prose with embellishments, jargon and other forms of verbosity. Clarity of expression and number of words are best found in inverse ratio.
The use of “—self” among them (yourself, myself etc)
Mithering on in this pompous, self-important vein is doing you no favours.
