Up to Victoria, the RF were Hanovarians. The Elector of Hanover had to be male, so Prince George of Cambridge, Victoria's cousin took that position after the death of William 1Vth as it couldn't be Victoria. Saxe Coburn Gotha came with Prince Albert, and turned into Windsor after WW1 for obvious reasons!! Their Germanness has been considerably diluted since the WW11 through non German marriages! Louis Moutbatten was very ambitious!!!!

during WW1 - sorry!

Not particularly a Royalist, but also not anti.

Get a bit narked when people post such things as "yet another Royal for the tax payers to support".

To be honest, I'm far more outraged (as indeed is my friend) by the fact that her nephew and partner have just had baby number 7 shock when he hasn't done a days work since he was 19!!!

Kayden
I think it should be spelt Caden - meaning Welsh warrior, so could be an outsider at 100 to 1?

Anniebach Mon 23-Apr-18 21:16:10

No K in the Welsh alphabet ?

mcem Mon 23-Apr-18 22:18:41

Anniebach Mon 23-Apr-18 22:26:19

Oh Dear! I've just posted my Royal Baby congrats to the "Chat" forum. confused
Didn't know any better.

Kitty Kelly wrote a book some years ago which was banned here
but I think it was full of bonkers nonsense Anniebach

Anniebach Tue 24-Apr-18 13:17:04

I don't know Jalima . I do not believe the story of Elizabeth and her darling Bertie. She was lined up to marry the heir to the throne but he wasn't interested, so she settled for next one down . All this ' she never forgave Edward and Wallace for causing poor Bertie to become king'. she had been turned down by Edward and sort revenge until his death.

That nonsense in the war - the king will not leave and I will not leave without the king etc, she spent the war at Windsor with a plane on standby in the grounds . Horrid woman

Granny23 Tue 24-Apr-18 16:05:57

I was not referring to Kitty Kelly's Book but rather the scandal at Kincora Boys Home.

Anniebach Tue 24-Apr-18 18:00:02

My post in what was said in N.I. Newspapers when Mountbatten was murdered had nothing to do with paedophile rings

merlotgran Tue 24-Apr-18 19:29:19

What was said in NI Newspapers?

Anniebach Tue 24-Apr-18 19:39:54

he enjoyed the company of young boys on his yacht

gillybob Tue 24-Apr-18 21:15:33

I read today that Princess Diana was induced so as not to spoil prince Charles important polo match .

gillybob Tue 24-Apr-18 21:21:00

Oops meant to post that on the “new prince” thread . Following me comment that perhaps K was induced at home to make sure the birth coincided with St George’s day.

nigglynellie Tue 24-Apr-18 22:05:50

Honestly gilly does that really matter now - or are people trying to stir up some more Prince Charles bashing?!

Anniebach Tue 24-Apr-18 22:18:20

I fear Charles bashing , strange it is said today following the programme on Camilla yesterday

merlotgran Tue 24-Apr-18 22:37:01

Is there any Charles bashing after the programme about Camilla?

I thought both of them came across very well. He's devoted to her and she provides all the support he needs.

gillybob Wed 25-Apr-18 07:22:05

It probably doesn’t niggly but still relevant to my point that they can pretty much give birth to suit their diaries .

I must ask DD to ring “ her team” to make sure her babies birth fits in with our social and work calendars .wink

Anniebach Wed 25-Apr-18 08:58:17

I agree Charles and Camilla came across well,

nigglynellie Wed 25-Apr-18 09:27:35

If only Charles had been allowed to marry Camilla in the first place! Having said that what is done is done, and I think they make a fantastic couple obviously deeply deeply fond of each other, and have clearly gone through hell fire to be together. She seems such a 'nice' lady, and he seems so much more relaxed and just happier! As for dragging up some misdemeanour committed some thirty odd years ago, surely most of us have in the past done things we'd rather not dwell on? Difference is that for poor P.C the whole world has to know both then and now, and wag a disapproving finger - even after 30 years!!! FHS!!

nigglynellie Wed 25-Apr-18 09:29:08

Mind you, I was never a Diana fan, so perhaps I'm a bit prejudiced!!

Anniebach Wed 25-Apr-18 10:39:59

Not predjudice niggly, I was not a Diana lovey, just irritated by the manipulation . Every thing said against Charles was said by Diana and so was taken as gospel. The yummy mummy she protrayed was so annoying, all done with cameras around.
