Inquiry Demanded into Islamaphobia in the Conservative Party.

The Muslim Council of Britain is demanding an inquiry be set up by the Conservative party into widespread anti-Muslim culture within the Tory party rank and file.

In a letter to James Cleverly, the Tory deputy chairman, the council demanded that he conduct a full audit to tackle the “more than weekly occurrences of Islamophobia from candidates and representatives of the party”.

The letter also highlights the lack of action regardingBob Blackman, the MP for Harrow East, who was accused of endorsing Islamophobia after he posted an anti-Muslim article on Facebook.

The post included a link to a story the headline of which is so disgusting, I will not post it here, but cites “Muslim abuse of white British children” which was published on the website Hardcore News USA, which often features Islamophobic stories.

Mr Blackman, also retweeted Tommy Robinson posts “in error” he has stated, and invited controversial Hindu nationalist Tapan Ghosh, who praised the ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya in Myanmar, to an event in Parliament. Mr Blackman also apologised for that invitation saying he “regretted any upset caused”.

The need for a formal inquiry into Islamophobia in the party was described by former Tory cabinet minister Sayeeda Warsi as being “long overdue”.

No Grandad but because if you lay down the law and propound from your soap box, it would be so much more effective if the grammar and spelling were less puerile.
Grumppa Mick and Wobblybits have no such problem.

Grandad1943 Mon 04-Jun-18 18:11:58

lemongrove, but their is legislation outside this forum that recognise harassment and other online acts as illegal whichever sex it is perpetrated towards

lemongrove Mon 04-Jun-18 18:07:25

That means nothing Grandad as none of us can know , it’s just a name.
Just as nobody knows how old we actually are, or much about us at all, other than we choose to write.

Grandad1943 Mon 04-Jun-18 18:07:13

anniebach, who is grumppa?

Anniebach Mon 04-Jun-18 18:02:07

Good heavens, Grumppa is male and greatly respected and liked

Grandad1943 Mon 04-Jun-18 18:02:04

It states grandad which I have confirmed in many posts

Grandad1943 Mon 04-Jun-18 18:01:00

MawBoon ????? To the above

lemongrove Mon 04-Jun-18 17:58:45

None of us really know who is male and who is female on here, in spite of forum names.

Grandad1943 Mon 04-Jun-18 17:56:29

Nitpicking again MawBroon because I am a male on this forum.

lemongrove Mon 04-Jun-18 17:55:12

Why not Grandad43 it’s not hard to do.

MawBroon Mon 04-Jun-18 17:54:13

“Is your preference “ or “ are your preferences?”
confused

Grandad1943 Mon 04-Jun-18 17:50:17

I also do not wish to bold usernames which is my preferences.

Grandad1943 Mon 04-Jun-18 17:48:36

I agree mawbroon, a mistake on my part.

Had a long day in the office.

MawBroon Mon 04-Jun-18 17:33:40

I rather think Chewbacca (note the bold for usernames, ) might be a “she” but if in doubt I, understand current correct practice is to use “they/them/their”

Grandad1943 Mon 04-Jun-18 17:31:05

Mawbroon, you can either accept the report or reject it.

The important fact is that I did reply to the Chewbacca inquiry when he continued to insist in his posts that I had not.

If this is the source of link you meant Grandad I am sceptical of the guaranteed impartiality and professionalism of the organisation you cite.
I might have been more impressed with any of the broadsheets, the BBC or even the Huffington Post , but we all know that Trump gets his news from the dodgy sources such as Fox News and from what I have read of the Medium Corporation I have yet to be convinced.

Chewbacca, you several times in this thread have stated that I had not replied to your inquiries regarding gang grooming in Britain.

However I had replied on that matter in a post I made on the 31/05/2018 @12:47 and gave a link to an article which gave subject to gang grooming, trafficking, abuse of young girls within gangs and the links between all.

It is now obvious that you did not read that post, but continued to make assertions that I had not replied.

Therefore Chewbacca, (and with every respect), do you not feel that an apology should be in order to myself, or some other explanation given

Correct muffin

If anyone has not read Alexis Jay’s report into events in Rotherham, I would urge them to do so.

www.rotherham.gov.uk/download/downloads/id/1407/independent_inquiry_cse_in_rotherham.pdf

This was not merely an issue around perceptions of racism, ‘political correctness’, or the like. There were persistent and catastrophic failings of services to protect vulnerable children.

Not all vulnerable children are angel face, doe eyed orphans. Some of them - including many of the Rotherham victims - are difficult to work with. They are resistant to intervention. They engage in offending behaviour.

None of that makes them any less vulnerable, or any less in need of protection.

Too many people shrugged and turned aside from this problem. It is imperative that the front line workers in child protection, who do heroic work in the face of scant resources and overwhelming need for their assistance, are fully supported at all levels of local and national government, to make sure all vulnerable kids are being heard and seen.

I would have to draw the conclusion that there are forum members that do not read posts thoroughly
Guilty!!

Some are just tltr

Grandad1943 Sun 03-Jun-18 19:40:22

Iam64, I do totaly agree that both sexes are the subject of abuse by criminal gangs

Iam64 Sun 03-Jun-18 19:21:27

Oh dear Grandad - another post in which you accuse others of diverting the discussion away from allegations of islamophobia in the tory party. I don't see any of that. No one is defending islamophobia. or any other form of racism.

Mae Culpa, I didn't read all your link. I'm fully aware of issues of grooming, trafficking, abuse of young girls (and boys) and the links between all. I do wish folks would acknowledge the vulnerable boys in all of this. So many of them.

Grandad1943 Sun 03-Jun-18 19:17:39

In regard to the grooming gangs issue, I replied on that matter in a post I made on the 31/05/2018 @12:47 and gave a link to an artical which gave subject to gang grooming, trafficking, abuse of young girls within gangs and the links between all.

However no one has commented on that post or link therefore I would have to draw the conclusion that there are forum members that do not read posts thoroughly or that they are trying to divert the debate away from the topic of Islamaphobia in the Conservative party.

Perhaps they wish to divert the discussion away from that topic because there is totally no defence of the disgusting Islamaphobia in the Tory party by way of the continuing stream of evidence that is being brought forward.

Jalima1108 Sun 03-Jun-18 18:56:10

As Iam64 says - The same goes for men of any creed, race or colour.
read her post paddyann.

It is a shocking indictment of society as a whole that this goes on.

Jalima1108 Sun 03-Jun-18 18:54:33

paddyann

If that wasn't such a serious subject your post would be funny.

You are assuming that the men who have been brought to trial in the Asian 'grooming gangs' are not British.

Why would you assume that - calling them foreigners sounds quite racist to me.
