The cost to Police Scotland of policing the marching season is already sky high.

Given that Arlene is a high profile politician, security at this walk is going to need to be even higher than usual and therefore even more expensive.

I’m not fantastically impressed that (policing being a devolved issue), the Scottish financial settlement is picking up the bill for this. I very rarely squeal “waste of public funds” but we have better uses for this money than this.

I mean, this as I understand it is not an official visit being undertaken in the course of her official duties.

Last year, the main OO Scottish Match took place in our local town (Alloa). Rumour had it that they picked Alloa because the SNP controlled Council, with a leader of the Council and Provost, who happened to be Catholics, would be forced to allow the March under the regulations and foot the bill for all the extra policing, road closures and subsequent cleaning up. The town centre was closed for the day and, fearing aggro, all the local pubs shut too, a whole days takings lost. My DD and family had to leave their home in the early hours as their street was closed off from 6am.

In common with Cowdenbeith, we are in the East of Scotland and unaccustomed to these Walks. As far as I am aware there are no LOO branches in the vicinity, and people of all faiths and none live peaceably together. The Orange Walk probably strengthened this feeling of solidarity in the community as EVERYONE was united in their opposition to it.

It's disgusting but the sort of thing we must expect I suppose when a narrow minded, racist, reactionary leads a party with 19 century beliefs that has the British government totally under its thumb. It doesn't bode well for the future of N Ireland.

Arlene is in the money thanks to the Maybot and has lots of money for bowler hats, orange sashes and such like. Wasn’t she involved in that scandal concerning fuel? Why wasn’t she sacked for that?

Given Arlene’s position as de facto leader of NI as and when Stormont sits again, this is actually bloody outrageous.

If Nicola went over to Belfast to lead the August Hunger Strike march, Arlene would rightly blow her stack.

We have enough trouble with sectarianism in the west of Scotland as is, the last thing we need is politicians coming from over the water to encourage it

Having witnessed the misery of DD's marriage to an 'orangeman' and her eventual escape back to the real world (us), I shudder every time I see Arlene Foster on the TV.

Imagine being surrounded by a family of hatchet faced (I make no apology for the term) women and their backward, bigoted views.

No place for a hard working and independent young mother. Her youngest son is nearly 18 and is thankful that this is the last July he will be forced to return to NI to march. The older one stopped going two years ago.

Very hard for them to refuse and brave of them to do so when the family still have control over their inheritance.

SinnFein will NEVER take their seats in Westminster Anniebach Very different scenario anyway ,,SinnFein are a political party who want their country reunited.I for one out of the many of irish descent agree fully with them.Anyone who understands Irish politics knows that .Foster is a backwards looking ,bigotted tin pot dictator.She should be curbing the OO in NI where there are STILL crimes against the Catholic community by them ,people being forced out of their homes etc.Instead here she is giving them the seal of approval!!

If Corbyn was to win the next election without an overall majority and if as they have said , Sinn Fein will take their seats in Parliament if Corbyn wins , Corbyn will have their full support for years of loyalty to the IRA.

It would be funny if it weren’t so sad that the pearl clutching on here is about the use of the words hatchet faced and not about the actions of the hatchet faced woman - but I expect nn and ab must think her behaviour totally acceptable - after all she is keeping the Government in power so must be beyond reproach

“Hatched faced”is not a personal comment on her appearance, it describes her stance on political issues.
