Still we’re getting HS2 and a new runway at Heathrow for a few billion, doesn’t matter that the ordinary passengers rail service is a complete shambles and the most expensive in Europe.

Chris Grayling should resign tomorrow. The chaos on the railways is totally disgusting and yet Grayling as Transport Secretary seems to think that this situation is nothing to do with him.

How could the train operating companies plan new schedules without ensuring that they had sufficient drivers and guards to staff those schedules?

One of the train operators (I believe it was Northern) today stated "that much of the problem had been caused because drivers would not work their rest days to learn new routes". The foregoing must be one of the most disgusting statements ever made by a company in regards to its staff.

Somebody should explain to these imbeciles of management, that rest days are for resting, especially if you are a train driver with thousands of people's lives in your hands every day.

Rest day working is not allowed under legislation in the road transport industry with regard to truck drivers or bus drivers. Why then is it allowed in the rail industry, especially in regard to train drivers and taken for granted by the employers that drivers should work their rest days at the demand of the company?

The rail situation is affecting businesses all over the country. Along with the foregoing many employees are arriving late for work while others are missing hospital appointments etc.

Grayling is the Transport Secretary and as so the buck stops with him. In that, he should resign immediately

This seems to be a failing with Government Depts at every level. The incompetents get promoted and go on to cause problems in their next role. The idea of actually sacking some one when they don't perform well seems to be an anathema.

Grayling, "a shit that needs to be flushed" the words of Tory MP and barrister regarding the utter disaster of Graylings previous record as justice minister. Par for the course for May's team.. he’s doing a great job ( not) in transport. Of course Torys will never put any money into public services unless it’s going to be ending up in the pockets of their mates.

He has moved through Cabinet posts leaving a trail of failure and incompetence behind him - so just how does he remain in office? Just how many bodies does he know the burial location of?
