For those that believe that for Britain should leave the European Union without at even a customs agreement should read the recent Bloomberg report in regard to such an event taking place.
In that, the report concludes that "in the long term" Britain if trading under World Trade Organisation terms would not be a location where large-scale manufacturing could be viable into the future. Bloomberg as a stock market trader and analyst are neutral in the present debate and therefore I feel should be respected in the reports they release.
Also, it is being reported in media surrounding the transport industry that only this week has this government requested companies with extensive supply chains to map those chains and supply that information to the government especially in regard to "just in time" (JIT) supply operations.
The above has "horrified" the entire transport industry as such an operation by such companies as supermarkets and large manufacturers is a huge operation to undertake and one which a large amount of resources will have to be devoted to. Also, as many supply chains encompass many different suppliers and distribution companies in those operations, no matter the amount of resources placed at the disposal of those carrying out those mapping operations, it will take an unknown number of months to complete.
All the above has been requested by this incompetent crowd that calls itself our government with less than nine months to go before Britain is supposed to be ready to leave the European Union.
I believe this government has also stated that it will set out the plans for a "no deal" Brexit to both business and the population in general in September. That begs the question, how will they do that with the supply chain map not being available to them at that time.
Without doubt that September report will be another "Brexit work of fiction" by this government.
I will try to look up the Bloomberg report referred to and post a link in this thread.
