Maw hysterical? What rubbish . You went too far granddad 1943, do stop placing the fault on Maw, why not apologise to her?

MissAdventure Sat 21-Jul-18 11:28:38

Hysterical negativity isn't a judgement on others' mental health.
You actually couldn't be more wrong about Maw, in my opinion.

Grandad1943 Sat 21-Jul-18 11:25:17

MawBroon, if you and other forum members review your post of yesterday (20/07/18 @ 13:21) it can be witnessed that you entered this thread by posting in regard to " hysterical negativity" being a condition that you speculated Jura, MazieD and myself were suffering from. Therefore you in that statement raised the mental health condition of two other forum members and myself.

However, when later in the thread that same prognosis is returned MawBroon, exception is taken by you to what was only a similar statement to that made by yourself towards others earlier in the thread.

Therefore it would seem that on this forum MalBroon you are a member who likes to "dish out" disparaging remarks to other forum members but then takes great sensitivity when those same remarks are returned to you.

Double Standards?

There is no such thing as a stress free life or a person who lacks any mental scars or open wounds
Alexa scars are not a sign of ill-health.
They are a sign of healing.
Perhaps what you see as a wound resulting in scar formation, other more resilient people would just put down to life experiences and heal without scar formation.

Alexa Sat 21-Jul-18 10:32:07

That's right MawBroon, The other internet discussions I attend have ego problems too. These waste time when there is something important or interesting to discuss.

MawBroon Sat 21-Jul-18 10:25:13

I think m0nica sums it up very well.

Let’s face it, yesterday’s stramash was destined to divert a conversation, to undermine my posts , perhaps to inflate a certain ego and as such would be best ignored.

MawBroon Sat 21-Jul-18 10:22:15

Resilience is to be desired and aimed for but resilience cannot happen until the stress and injury has preceded it

Which is not to say it cannot be achieved.
Like the acquisition of wisdom, resilience and equanimity , experience brings its own challenges but also its rewards.
And I defend my claim regarding my mental health in the face of yesterday’s accusations and insults from someone who does not know me.

Anniebach Sat 21-Jul-18 10:20:39

Just remembered I have certificates for completing health and safety courses, not sure how many ,they are updated every so often, from the CITB .

Does this mean I have a qualification ?

Alexa Sat 21-Jul-18 10:16:47

Queenie is remarkable for her public equanimity. Quite the opposite of the young Duchess's father poor man he was the dupe of media seducers. These media people who thrive on gossip are a public nuisance.

Anniebach Sat 21-Jul-18 10:12:29

Does queenie have mental health problems I wonder , even meeting Trump didn’t cause her to take an extended holiday.

Alexa Sat 21-Jul-18 10:07:04

MawBroon, I am aged 86. But please don't feel you should treat my posts with kid gloves because I am so old.

MissAdventure Sat 21-Jul-18 10:03:13

And so endeth today's lesson.

there must be something wrong with any aged woman whose mental health is impeccable after having lived an unsheltered life.

On the contrary, it is merely the sign of a strong resilient women - which so many women are.

MawBroon Sat 21-Jul-18 09:56:03

Best to stick to the topic of the thread.
Amusing but appropriate juxtaposition with the “Rummaging in the fridge” one though!

kittylester Sat 21-Jul-18 09:54:29

What a strange thing to say Alexa.

Smileless2012 Sat 21-Jul-18 09:53:32

That's my understanding too Jalimall, that the EU countries have been advised to make plans in the event of a no deal Brexit as they will be badly hit by it as well.

As for the French making things as difficult for the UK as they possibly can, cutting off one's nose to spite one's face springs to mind.

MawBroon Sat 21-Jul-18 09:53:16

I wouldn’t know Alexa I am not “aged” are you? smile

lemongrove Sat 21-Jul-18 09:44:22

What the devil does that mean Alexa or are you hoping to get your own post deleted?!

Alexa Sat 21-Jul-18 09:41:52

pokes head around the door it was me that said glee runs back out again. gleefully

Jalima1108 Fri 20-Jul-18 21:45:33

Mrs May has announced she will soon be issuing technical notices to businesses and HOUSEHOLDS in the event there is a no deal!
I think the EU powers-that-be are doing the same thing - it's called contingency planning - a very useful and important strategy for both governments and business (and households too).

I would hope that they are all making plans for all eventualities, whether they will be needed or not.

Day6 Fri 20-Jul-18 21:04:15

And no, it is getting clearer by the day that the tiny majority was won on lies and fraudulenty

That's because you, jura, like many other Remainers think people who voted Leave are thick and relied entirely on TV campaigns.

Long before the campaigns people were fed up with being under Brussels dictatorship. If you remember, in the February(?) before the referendum Cameron went to Brussels to seek changes to our deal and was completely and totally ineffective in getting any concessions. He was blanked and totally without power.

That spoke volumes for me and many Leavers (many of whom have working brain cells) who did not rely on slogans on buses to make up our minds, just as, I am sure, you didn't buy into the gloomy but concerted efforts of of pre-referendum Project Fear to make up your mind. You took your time to look at all the implications and the unknowns. There are STILL unknowns, but one of them will be that we do not have to keep pumping billions every year into an institution that today bears no resemblance whatsoever to the organisation we joined decades ago.

Day6 Fri 20-Jul-18 20:44:55

And if the French dockers, ferries, farmers, etc - decide to make it 1000 x more so- because they get fed up with the implications of Brexit for them

Oh, you mean they'll get spiteful because we broke away jura? How childish. How petty. EU members spiteful? Never! wink

I would imagine they would be cutting their noses off to spite their faces if they tried in any way to disrupt trading and imports and exports. EU businesses would suffer too. Cannot imagine they'd get much support - and they'd endanger their own employment.

Again, worst case, fearful scenario from a Remainer.
