Although I agree with "my body my choice" Having undergone surgery for medical reasons I can't understand why anyone would choose to undergo the knife.

I would like to know who actually thinks up these procedures - very rich cosmetic surgeons no doubt

Or maybe their husbands tell them it is not perfect and they have it done to please a man.

grin well that's a better mental image than the original one I had *alex57

still sniggering grin

alex57currie Tue 31-Jul-18 19:03:05

Chewbacca... Sorry, but my mind now has an image of women holding up plutonium fuel rods irradiating each other's pfoof.grin

Chewbacca Tue 31-Jul-18 18:56:28

Irradicate not irridiate. Totally different mental image.

Chewbacca Tue 31-Jul-18 18:55:31

I'm still at base camp on this! I don't know what constitutes a "perfect vagina" . Surely it's a vagina that does what it was intended for? And how do they know if their's isn't "perfect"? Do they compare them with their friends? How do they know? confused trying to irradiate the mental image of women checking out each other's vaginas

What a waste of pain and money . At least if you have a face lift the whole world can see it . Having work done on your “toosh” is a bit pointless . hmm

cornergran Tue 31-Jul-18 18:51:03

In a word - no - unless a medical reason.

Panache Tue 31-Jul-18 18:46:44

Absolutly the world going stark raving mad.

The only time for such operations would be through the area being badly injured or disformed................otherways what about just being happy with the bodies that we are given........we all have a grumble about some part or other............but this is taking things much too far in my estimation.

MissAdventure, perhaps I should have said I am proud of what mine has achieved.

Yes, I have come to terms with my saggy bits, and no,amount of hours in the gym will change them.

I had an epesiotomy after delivering my first child. The stitches were removed before the wound healed properly. When the District Nurse saw the wound she was horrified, and urged me to complain and have some remedial surgery. I couldn't see the point. It didn't bother me or DH and didn't interfere with our intimacy so I left it as it was. I cannot understand the vanity of some women to want a perfect vagina.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 31-Jul-18 18:35:01

Crystaltipps I fear you may be correct. Pornography is much more available nowadays. The days of the top shelf mags has long gone. Some young men get their sex education via porn and put young girls under ever increasing pressure to be perfect everywhere.

All we can do is continue to spread the message that girls are worthy just as they are without conforming to every media / male whim.

MissAdventure Tue 31-Jul-18 18:33:51

Oh, I don't think I could say I'm proud of mine.
I would say I have come to terms with my body.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 31-Jul-18 18:31:43

The women and men in the suffrage movement must be spinning in their graves.

I accept the 'my body I shall do what I like with it view, but really in 2018, with all that is going on in this world, women are seriously wanting a designer vagina.

I am totally proud of mine, along with my saggy belly and stretch marks it produced healthy babies!!!

crystaltipps Tue 31-Jul-18 18:30:31

I think it has something to do with the wide availability of porn online which shows women as perfect, hairless and always available for men’s fantasies.

MissAdventure Tue 31-Jul-18 18:26:36

I find it all really unsettling, this drive to turn into clones, all plucked and nipped and shaved, and bladed, and so on..
I mourn the loss of the blokey bloke!

Teetime Tue 31-Jul-18 18:07:13

I suppose if you were left in a poor state due to poor obstetric management you might want something done.

Fennel Tue 31-Jul-18 18:04:00

I read some time ago that some pregnant women opted for cesareans so that their vaginas wouldn't be damaged.

MissAdventure Tue 31-Jul-18 17:46:45

I'm all for adults doing whatever the hell they want, but I have to say I think this is abhorrent.

Bridgeit Tue 31-Jul-18 17:43:38

I can’t believe that woman of past generations who put up with so much, fought for us to have the vote, continined fighting for equality etc, & one of the end results is that some woman would want such a procedure. Why? Who for? Unbelievable & disgraceful in my opionon when so many ladies battle with illness such as cancer. Even worse is that there are surgeons prepared to do it!!

Chewbacca Tue 31-Jul-18 17:18:36

Just seen this on the news "Vagina rejuvenating therapies 'pose serious risk'"

I'm both perplexed and dismayed that women are so unhappy with their bodies that they would go to this extreme. What's happened to women that they feel that they have to conform to some kind of "Barbie doll" perfection? I'd be interested to know what you think... for or against.
