Well it's all over the papers now. Harry and Meghan are moving out of Kensington Palace. There seems to be a personality clash between Meghan and Kate. It must be hard for Willian and Harry who are very close, and it's sad this has happened so soon after the wedding. I hope they can resolve their differences.

Shock horror - family members NOT getting on together. Whatever next!! It seems very obvious that Kate and Meghan are completely different women (apart from ages and backgrounds, Kate has never had a proper job but schemed from the age of 18 to get William, e.g. she delayed going to university for a year, just as he did, so that she would be in the same year as him = Fact). Meghan is American, divorced and had her own career. They can probably be civil enough to each other when they meet and that's most of what is required from family members! And, as the years go by, they will settle into a way of being with each other. Early days yet.

Who cares?

Marieeliz Mon 03-Dec-18 12:31:53

Its in the papers, so it must be true then, did your English teacher never tell you not to believe everything you read in the papers!!!! Its all a load of twaddle and they will keep printing it if, like some on here, believe it.

I read that they wanted the apartment next to William and Kate but it is already occupied (can't remember by whom) and they would not leave. So an alternative had to be found for them. Their existing residence has two bedrooms not enough for mother to live with them. I dont believe there is a rift but it is none of our businezs.

Anniebach Mon 03-Dec-18 12:26:55

All this seems to have started because Megan’s P.A. resigned after 6 months .

I am cross that Kate has been mocked on this forum for not having a career and sleeping with William before marriage, good grief they were only married in 2011, I wasn’t a virginal bride in the late 60’s

Aepgirl Mon 03-Dec-18 12:19:34

It’s all newspaper gossip at the moment. Let’s not get drawn into this until there is some firm evidence.

GabriellaG Mon 03-Dec-18 12:05:31

While we're at it. How about Prince Philip? Gave up his job in the Navy to marry a princess whom he knew would be Queen. Not only a MAN without a job but his wife, in her role as Queen, supports him.
Kate had 3 jobs and a university education, before marrying William.
Meghan had jobs AND a marriage AND was much older when she married Harry. One cannot equate the two women. Obviously, I don't know her but her apparent dictatorial attitude seems to have rubbed off on Harry and that is from several sources who are unlikely to be in cahoots.

I think some of the papers have just been waiting to weave a new line of 'news' and gossip to fill their pages after Meghan and Harry's wedding. They are making something out of nothing - it is all from probably unreliable 'sources' exaggerating tiny incidents put across as if they were true. For instance I think it's quite funny that Meghan apparently asked for air fresheners to be sprayed in St George's Chapel before the wedding. It's no big deal either way, but is being covered as if it was a major insult to 'our royals'. Whatever we think of the royal family, it is horrible how the public are now being manipulated to dislike Meghan. That report could have read 'Bride brings breath of fresh air to fusty chapel' but it didn't.... I sometimes read the comments under articles about this kind of thing in the online Daily Mail and I increasingly find many of them abusive. Some are downright racist and I wonder if this is what the anti-Meghan angle is all about..... But there is a general theme of dragging people down - showing 'celebs' in unflattering photos with headlines like 'X flaunts her post-baby curves' (when she obviously wasn't) - a really snide, mocking mixed message here.

I wish both families health and happiness.

Who hand on heart on this forum has never had the odd "spat" with a family member?

Who would like to live cheek by jowl with their Brother and Sister in law? Not me that's for sure.

Isn't it bad enough that they live every day with the knowledge that the minutiae of their lives is being scrutinised. Without gossip columnists turning the screw?

Anniebach Mon 03-Dec-18 11:43:58

I agree niggly, impossible to compare the life styles of the two women, Kate did as so many did, met someone in university, then a romance, she did have a job in London but was hounded by the press, wisely she then worked for the family firm.

Megan, led a different life, married, left her husband to move to Canada, divorced, was then in another relationship which ended when she met harry and three weeks later they went off to Africa for a holiday, perhaps they had seperate rooms, I don’t know or care .

sarahellenwhitney Mon 03-Dec-18 11:42:11

This is womens mag, Mills and Boon and does not warrant a place in the 'Daily's. A case of chalk and cheese where a woman of substance who comes from ,to put it mildly, a rather outspoken?? family is joined through matrimony to another woman who had a loving and stable upbringing .

nigglynellie Mon 03-Dec-18 11:21:13

Perhaps the D of C doesn't want to be a feminist, not everyone does, so why the venom?! Perhaps she likes being dependent on her husband and his family, nothing wrong in that surely! These two ladies are very different people, neither one is right or wrong just different, as are most of us.
I must admit that I don't know anyone, however fond, wanting to live next door to each other!! so nothing very odd about at I'd have thought.

Ramblingrose22 Mon 03-Dec-18 11:17:43

mrsmopp - WHO CARES? I'm with the others here who don't.

The country is tearing itself apart over Brexit and could harm its economy for a very long time and you worry about whether the younger Royals get on with each other.

To keep things in their proper perspective, the younger Royals hating each other will hardly impact on your life but the next move in the Brexit saga could mean that everyone is poorer.

Blinko Mon 03-Dec-18 11:11:20

What papers is it 'all over'? None of those I've been reading. Hello magazine, perhaps?

Telly Mon 03-Dec-18 11:08:05

I think this story is rubbish. They were in a 2 bed apartment and when you had shedloads of vacant houses surely anyone would move once they start a family.

elfies Mon 03-Dec-18 11:00:57

take with a pinch of salt .
Happily they are both individuals , different personalities married to brothers with very different personalities and responsibilities .
I wish them all a happy life ..I wouldn't want to live in a goldfish bowl , permanently on show .

NannyG123 Mon 03-Dec-18 10:58:10

The only thing I can say is, who cares. Certainly not me.

Cold Mon 03-Dec-18 10:54:45

For goodness sake do people expect brothers in their mid-30s to live next door to each other for life? It sounds as though there is a disgruntled staff member selling stories

In any case William and Kate spent several years in Norfolk away from the publicity glare of London while their kids were very young and we didn't get stories about William and Harry "falling out".

I really don't understand what the issue is about Harry and Meghan choosing to establish their own family home

Sam1965 Mon 03-Dec-18 10:47:39

Well it’s all over the papers .... so it must be true!!!
The British paps do it all the time ...
They built her up put her on a pedestal.. now they’ll knock her down ...

merlotgran Mon 03-Dec-18 10:47:22

William and Kate spent the first few years of parenthood at Anmer Hall . At least Harry and Meghan will be nearer to London for official stuff.

holdingontometeeth Mon 03-Dec-18 10:41:42

Well that’s my life ruined then.

Barmeyoldbat Mon 03-Dec-18 10:39:45

Paddyann, your post was full of hatred. Yes millions do need bigger homes etc by why should that stop two people who want to move to a bigger home from moving. The current property has two bedrooms, baby on the way and mum coming to stay so I think even you can do the math and see more space is needed. And as I said does it really matter.

grannytotwins Mon 03-Dec-18 10:33:32

The media has made something out of nothing. The first planning application for Frogmore Cottage went in around the time of their wedding, so it’s always been the plan for the Sussexes to live there. They are in a two bedroom house at the moment, so no room for any help with the baby when they carry out official duties. I’m not a Royalist, but the spiteful articles about Meghan are horrible and mostly based on supposition.

Anniebach Mon 03-Dec-18 10:12:56

anno, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned

annodomini Mon 03-Dec-18 10:07:40

I don't enjoy scandalmongering by the red-tops and what I have learnt about it has been mostly from this thread, but can't help thinking about the visceral hatred of the then Duchess of York (soon to be Queen Elizabeth) for Wallis Simpson on the run-up to the abdication of Edward VIII. Luckily a throne is not at stake in this present spat.
