Just wondering how many grans will be in London on March 23rd? We've just booked our train tickets; I'm not called grannyactivist for nothing! grin

I don't need fridge magnets when I've got a notice board, where I've just stuck my "Put it to the People" sticker.

Not 'the comfy trainers', crystaltipps shockshockshock

That's so very middle class, though. The working class (who voted to a man and woman for Brexit, of course) wouldn't be seen dead in comfy trainers...

I think Jesus sandals went out with hippies in the 70s , so whoever wrote that is really out of touch or old. Vegan DMs are much more hipster. However, most on the march had comfy trainers.

MaizieD Sun 24-Mar-19 18:46:09

Aha. I've located Charlotte Gill. Daily Mail columnist.

Here's her take on the march: (though it hurts to post it)

I'm amazed that she didn't hear the mobile sound system belting out some rather up to date music... I think she was on a different march from me...

No fridge magnets, Varian? shock

How do you keep vital information and your grandchildren's art work attached to your fridge then?

varian Sun 24-Mar-19 18:34:52

Didn't see any of these sandals on the march, not even on the fancy dressers.

MaizieD Sun 24-Mar-19 18:33:44

Jesus sandals? Lily you sound puzzled.

Those strappy sandals worn by men (often with a pair of socks) and associated with Liberal* voting Guardian readers. As there aren't very many of them I can't imagine where the remainder of the 1,000,000+ marchers came from...

I'm afraid I failed every one of C Gill's tests sad

Who is she, by the way? Keeps popping up in my twitter time line for some unknown reason...

Liberal. I know, they don't exist any more but it *is a terribly old insult...

varian Sun 24-Mar-19 18:30:02

I don't have any fridge magnets.

Day6 Sun 24-Mar-19 18:16:32

Varian, are you one for fridge-magnet philosophy too? grin

If you see dire placard statements as witty you are easily pleased.

Labaik Sun 24-Mar-19 18:02:16

Soon after Farages vile poster Jo Cox was murdered. Yesterday he goes to Anna Soubrys constituency (knowing she wouldn't be there, partly because of the march and partly because of death threats) and campaigns (ie stirrs up hatred) outside a Beeston pub.

Getting ready for Nigel’s brexit March - what do I need to pack?
- bus pass
- Fray Bentos pie in a tin
-incontinence pads ( it’ll be exciting and there’s not many toilets
- copy of the Sun in case I run out of toilet roll
- Cardboard cutout of Nigel as he’s not actually walking.
- rose tinted Brexit specs ( already wearing those)

Nothing like stereotyping eh?

My dog,s called Farage - it barks a lot but doesn’t like walks.

Lily65 Thu 21-Mar-19 20:46:28

Jesus sandals?

Day6 Thu 21-Mar-19 19:44:17

Ha ha ha. Have been sent this Tweet, which is doing the rounds. grin

Getting ready for #PeoplesVote march this Saturday. Hmm, what do I need to pack?

1. Waitrose quiche? CHECK
2. Jesus sandals? CHECK
3. Cute child to use as political propaganda? CHECK
4. All-round sense of middle-class self-entitlement? ALREADY PACKED MATE

No doubt there will be lots of flags and banners - If you are marching please would you also consider wearing a yellow rose? This is to be a symbol of our support for the 3 million EU citizens living in the UK.

Saturday's huge London protest demanding a Brexit vote could be the biggest in British history

But then we might just be in the 'biggest crisis since the Second World War'

There's more that would be funny if it wasn't so tragic

Urmstongran Mon 18-Mar-19 13:47:46

I had to post this as it IS funny! (Even though I’m a Leaver you’ve gotta have a sense of humour).

For Sale

One pair of walking boots, used for 20 minutes in the Sunderland area.

Only one previous owner (N. Farage)

jura2 Mon 18-Mar-19 13:06:03

Thanks Fennel.

Fennel Mon 18-Mar-19 12:43:00

My mistake - he's only on on a Sunday.

jura2 Mon 18-Mar-19 11:49:27

he is being flown around by his mates, in private planes paid by them - so plenty of time to fit in his slot on LBC

Fennel Mon 18-Mar-19 11:44:23

Yesterday Nigel was on his usual mid-day slot on LBC.
Probably again today after James O'B.

jura2 Mon 18-Mar-19 10:33:09

Well, it is quite sinister in fact the 'where is Nigel'? He is going around Europe to talk to any alt right leaning politicians to stop our own Sovereign Parliament from doing its job. The irony and hypocrisy- and the dangers - are beyond belief.

Lily65 Mon 18-Mar-19 09:13:21

So more of a stroll really?

crystaltipps Mon 18-Mar-19 08:04:33

There’s only 50 doing the whole march and some of that is by bus.....
