Who? I can't think of anyone ...

I like Yvette Cooper also.
Maybe we could persuade David Milliband to join the Conservatives.

I hope she doesn’t, we would really be in the dogs doo dah then.
I’d like Yvette Cooper. Do you think she would change sides?

I posted the following query on the good news thread but then felt it may be better placed in this thread

So, I have been working here in the office all day, but someone has just come in who had watched PMQs at lunchtime and is saying that Theresa May looked and sounded like she was on the verge of resigning.

Would anyone on GN who watched PMQs agree with what has been said, as many of us are intrigued and somewhat concerned here?

Is there one single one of them that is seriously trustworthy? Has total integrity, decency, is completely honest.....

We need to start again, get rid of the lot of them, (eject them all to some desert island), have proportional representation, an elected upper house, a strictly monitored utterly fair system! Cloud cuckoo land I guess, but I do feel there is no-one, but no-one I wish to vote for - at the moment!

... and to be fair, too old for the job

If we can only choose Tories, then agree with yggdrasil Ken Clark

yggdrasil Wed 20-Mar-19 15:18:41

Only Ken Clarke. But he is too sensible to take the poisoned chalice

None of them, I'd never trust a Tory to run the country. Surely the last eight years have shown us what kind of party they are.

lemongrove Wed 20-Mar-19 12:10:57

Grieve and Soubry are finished.

paddyann Wed 20-Mar-19 12:08:40

I've never trusted any tory ever ,that wont change after this shower of selfserving incompetent fools

jura2 Wed 20-Mar-19 10:04:05

Grieve and Soubry ... toxic- just shows how bitterly divided the country is. They would be my choice too.

LadyGracie Tue 19-Mar-19 22:25:52

I’ve always voted conservative, I will never again!

MiniMoon Tue 19-Mar-19 22:04:14

Amber Rudd seems sensible, but I really wouldn't want Boris.

Urmstongran Tue 19-Mar-19 22:02:03

Gosh never Dominic Grieve! He’s shafted his constituents in Beaconsfield. They are baying for his blood. He will be deselected for sure.

Ditto Anna Sourby. Her constituents are furious! She’s jumped before she was pushed but no one will vote for her now. She’s toxic.

Framilode Tue 19-Mar-19 21:52:23

I agree varian. He is someone I have a lot of respect for.

varian Tue 19-Mar-19 20:38:12

Dominic Grieve is an intelligent Tory politician, with good judgement. Unfortunately most Tory members don't appreciate him.

Jalima1108 Tue 19-Mar-19 20:25:35

Maybe Anna Soubry but she is not under the Conservative whip any more
Please no!!

um, struggling

Philip Hammond?

lemongrove Tue 19-Mar-19 20:19:48

Are we talking ministers or including backbenchers?
I like James Cleverley, but he’s a back bencher.
Michael Gove might make a good PM but has lost the trust of other ministers.
I think a relatively unknown would make a good choice of future PM for a fresh start.

No

sylviemc Tue 19-Mar-19 18:47:42

yes but only slightly and that would be Ken Clarke who is the most middle - ground Tory ever but also stable level headed clear sighted though i do not agree with all he says he is intelligent enough to gain my confidence. No one else under any circumstances at all ever ever ever though.
Afraid I am a solid socialist democrat born into a Strong Tory family - it was my response to how they talked and behaved and thought lol - we are not close - i wonder why ????

GabriellaG54 Tue 19-Mar-19 18:42:09

I wish we had another Maggie.

I saw Tiny Blair on tv today and he looks really old and kinda shrunken.
No longer the Liebour poster boy.

Sparklefizz Tue 19-Mar-19 18:38:25

Pleeeease not Jacob R-M - he's a dinosaur!

Luckygirl Tue 19-Mar-19 18:33:49

We have a Tory MP, and I think he would make a good leader, though I have never voted Conservative in my whole life, and doubt I ever will. But he is a decent and intelligent man who is an excellent constituency MP, championing many local causes. He has also written a book about caring Conservatism, outlining how he would like to see the party move forward; and he has always voted against austerity and the cutting of LA budgets for delivery of services. I would rather see someone like him, who does have some moral compass, at the helm, rather than this bunch of self-serving individuals, and indeed buffoons.
