I can only assume these people know what they are doing.

And from Dr Clive Peedell : "Absolutely shocked that so many people that support a No Deal Brexit are nonchalantly saying that it will be tough for a bit then improve. As a doctor and cancer specialist, I'm incandescent these people don't seem to care that lives and livelihoods are at serious risk".

Professor Brian Cox is one of the most intelligent people in the UK and he says it clearly ' ...Ministers have access to the full analysis on No Deal and you can see the fear in their eyes. They know it's be an economical and social catastrophy and the end of the Union. But it's an admission they've misled voters'.

Thank you for enlightening me. I had no idea ( not) . Not sure what your point is though.

Underwear sold by Rigby and Peller at £70+ for a Prima Donna bra is made in Sri Lanka as is underwear from Sainsbury's, Primark and M&S among many other brands. The same applies to all high street clothing no matter what you pay.

You were the one trying to slur others with the things you do yourself

crystaltipps Sat 06-Apr-19 19:55:12

Did I decry them though?

GabriellaG54 Sat 06-Apr-19 19:55:09

yoyrself yourself

GabriellaG54 Sat 06-Apr-19 19:54:25

Look at the labels in your own clothes, underwear, everything. Pots and pans, rugs, plant pots, crockery, cars, curtains, towels, bed-linen...guaranteed to be made in the very same manufacturing premises that you decry.
Just like food, factories manufacture for many brands so don't kid yoyrself

crystaltipps Sat 06-Apr-19 19:38:20

You don’t GG54! You’re always boasting about your cheap clothes?

GabriellaG54 Sat 06-Apr-19 19:06:36

Good to note that some people don't care how much their flying (passport checking noted) adds to our carbon emissions but object to buying food and clothes made in other countries, countries that use what they deem to be sweatshop labour which would include the food and products sold in those countries.

Notanan2 - it makes us Remainers feel a tiny little better

For some really appalling news about Brexit there is an article in the Guardian today entitled ".....how the world sees Brexit" This makes devastating reading

varian Sat 06-Apr-19 16:22:09

That is correct. If we remain in the EU these blue passports might become rare collectables.

notanan2 Sat 06-Apr-19 12:52:50

What difference does it make? Having a british passport with EU on it after brexit wont still entitle you to any EU benefits. You wont be able to walk through the EU lines at airports (unless that is negotiated). It WONT still be an EU passport just because it still has the words on it!

MaizieD Sat 06-Apr-19 12:46:15

I'm rather pleased to see that my passport has another 5 years to go... 2024

humptydumpty Sat 06-Apr-19 12:43:41

Apparently they are still issuing some 'left over' old passports. I applied to have mine renewed assuming it would include EU and it's being delivered on Monday. Really sorry if I left it too late.

notanan2 Sat 06-Apr-19 12:39:01

You people are over-estimating people.

The type of people who could contribute to civil unrest in a no deal Brexit are not necessarly the types who have a history of violence/aggression and extreme views.

A few days of food/fuel supply instability, gridlocks on roads, delays in wage payments... and it would happen. And it wouldnt be a small group with extreme political views.

They are not preparing for heated political protests, they are preparing for a rush on stockpiling elc

Dinahmo Sat 06-Apr-19 12:22:08

Thank goodness my husband applied a few months before his passport expired. It came this week and is still an EU passport.

varian Sat 06-Apr-19 11:47:13

Thank goodness most passports are still EU. I hope those blue passports will be replaced with EU passports free of charge if we remain in the EU.

The words European Union were removed from passport covers from 30 March – the day the UK was expected to leave the EU

Travel writer Simon Calder writes about the lies and distortions of the truth promoted on social media by the pro-brexit campaigners.

"As the political temperature rises, the invective about travel after Brexit is becoming ever more shrill – especially on social media. In case you find yourself at the receiving end of some “information” about travel procedures over the next few years, and are unsure about its veracity, allow me to help with a trio of topics which have been swirling around in cyberspace.

On Thursday I wrote that the European parliament had voted by 502 to 81 in favour of allowing British travellers to make short visits to the EU without a visa, in the event of a no-deal Brexit.

On Twitter, T J Seeker was quick to respond: “Another remoaner lie – Brits needing visas for travel around EU post Brexit: EXPOSED!”

Well, had MEPs not voted for the concession, we would have been third-country nationals who needed visas. Also, from 2021 when the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (Etias) comes into effect, UK travellers will need to apply in advance for permission to visit the European Union.

While Etias is not officially described a visa, I think a scheme that requires you to fill out forms and pay €7 ahead of applying for admission can reasonably be known as a “Euro visa” for short."

The ruling elite are the experts don't you know? In fact anybody who has facts and figures at their fingertips before making a comment. Witness the recent debate about measles vaccinations. There are still people who refuse to have their children immunised despite recommendations by the WHO etc.

crystaltipps Fri 05-Apr-19 16:35:24

Who are the “ruling elite” that the “ordinary people” are angry with? Would that be the Johnsons, Goves, Francois, Rees Moggs of this world who have blocked May’s agreement and divided the ruling party? I’m angry with them for peddling their narrow minded nationalism. Plus I’m an ordinary person too.

MaizieD Fri 05-Apr-19 15:58:26

Ordinary people are very angry at the ruling liberal elite who are doing all in their power to stop Brexit.

I'm an 'ordinary person', Day6 and so are all my Remainer friends. We're not in the least bit angry about anything being done to try to stop Brexit.

The democracy is in a coffin. It's dead.

What 'democracy' would that be? The one where cheating, lying and breaking the law are perfectly acceptable so long as you 'win'?

I thought the British were better than that; I thought that one of our lauded virtues was our sense of 'fair play'.

Clearly one of us is mistaken about what 'democracy' entails...
