Next Tory Leader.

Rory Stewart and Matt Hancock both sound reasonably normal, but I guess they won’t appeal to those who get to vote - mostly male, white, over 55, live in the south, talk about unaccountable and undemocratic appointments. Isn’t the one of the criticisms of the EU?

I’m still liking Rory Stewart, he’s had some very good life experiences outside of politics before he was an MP. But I’m not holding my breath.

Just heard the news that Boris (The Buffoon) Johnson is to face court over his antics during the leave EU Referendum Campaign.

As someone just said here in the office that he will in all probability still get elected as Tory Leader but have to answer his first Prime Minister's Questions to the Commons via a video link from his prison cell in Brixton. ?

Anyway, head down, back to work. ?

Pleased that there are to be television and radio debates so that non Tory members learn more about the candidates.
Meanwhile I support Rory Stewart as having achieved things in a career outside politics and not having an axe to grind. But as for MG - what was it he said about leaving the EU being as easy as falling off a log... ?

Remember what used to be said about a cocky kid;
"He'll end up as Prime Minister or in Prison".

JRM should think himself fortunate as his only known crime is merely against the Art of Literature having produced a god-awful (read the critics) book on the Victorians (this really discloses his values).

Just watch all the rats deserting Johnson now that he is a (bit more) toxic candidate. Wonder how JRM will square this with his high standards of public service and expected behaviour?

Hopefully this will snooker Johnson's leadership chances. He is a liar, proven many times. Still, the way things are going in politics at the moment, with St Nigel of Farage being hailed as a hero, maybe this will not stop the old fools who make the leadership decision.

Johnson seems to be making thousands by giving speeches abroad, too. Just imagine being able to get thirty thousand euros just like that. I assume he gave it to charity [or the NHS]. Or perhaps it'll go towards his divorce settlement...
