Names are coming along at a regular basis, and with May having a meeting with Brady today, it is likely that she will be persuaded to give a date of her departure.

So let’s start looking at who would make the most suitable Tory leader.

The first out of the hat is Boris Johnson.
His first hurdle is facing court to defend the charge of lying before the referendum.

iam doesn’t sound like that to me?

Iam64 Mon 10-Jun-19 19:53:56

"No Outsiders". - hurray, Gabriella has undergone indoctrination by those awful teachers at the Primary School which is under siege because of using the book she's referring to ' No Outsiders"

Callistemon Mon 10-Jun-19 17:35:39

Is he too old to be Prime Minister?

GrannyGravy13 Mon 10-Jun-19 17:34:42

Gordon Bennett was my Mums first boyfriend he must be in his 90’s now!!

Callistemon Mon 10-Jun-19 17:33:49

living in a very predictable bubble who mix with their own kind.
Thank goodness my DC can mix with "all kinds" as they have to deal with large numbers of staff of all nationalities and from all walks of life and also students from so many different places in the world.

GillT57 Mon 10-Jun-19 17:33:22

monica. Agreed that Labour are just as bad. But to spell it out as part of your 'vote for me' speech as if it is a positive move is quite another thing.

Callistemon Mon 10-Jun-19 17:29:22

Gordon Bennett
I must have missed him in the list of candidates - is he any good?

M0nica Mon 10-Jun-19 16:48:21

GillT Stalinist culls are nothing on this bunch., what? compared with the Labour party, this lot are but a pale imitation.

GabriellaG54 Mon 10-Jun-19 15:17:57

Not one is poor

Framilode Mon 10-Jun-19 15:15:21

GG54 'None of my family are poor'. Grammar.

GillT57 Mon 10-Jun-19 15:03:51

GG54 Has your account been hacked? Even by your standards you are getting outrageous! Why on earth would I go to sleep at 2.45? And also, within your smug, succesful little world, what exactly do you mean by No outsiders?
No pesky Socialists, nobody who disagrees with you? No "gasp" Remain supporters?
Nah, I think you are just winding everyone up, nobody is that perfect and knows it.

Labaik Mon 10-Jun-19 14:51:39

So, who do you want as leader GG54?

GabriellaG54 Mon 10-Jun-19 14:49:33

GillT57
I'm sure that you've repeated yourself a great many times on here as have other GNers.
Go to sleep dear. Lack of sleep fries the brain and I can hear yours sizzle.

Labaik Mon 10-Jun-19 14:49:32

..and Hunt, today says 'we're in a constitutional crisis'...yes we are, and your government actually created it Mr Hunt. Also, if there are billions of pounds set aside for a no deal Brexit why have we had austerity cuts for the duration of this Conservative government [I'm so angry/in despair I think my heads going to explode...angry…]

GabriellaG54 Mon 10-Jun-19 14:47:20

No-one I know has ever taken drugs of any kind, certainly not my children 3 of whom are randomly tested because of their jobs.
They just aren't interested and are 100% into healthy living and outdoor pursuits, not bars and lines of coke in toilets and friends aren't those kind of people. Safe, Tory, married just the once, living in a very predictable bubble who mix with their own kind. No outsiders.

GillT57 Mon 10-Jun-19 14:41:05

yes you do keep telling us that GG54, you are starting to repeat yourself dear

GabriellaG54 Mon 10-Jun-19 14:38:04

None of my family are poor and all 16 of us voted OUT.

GabriellaG54 Mon 10-Jun-19 14:35:08

^shoe^ in ?
Gordon Bennett
The spelling on here is beyond dire.
There are options to correct.

Labaik Mon 10-Jun-19 14:31:17

…." the person most likely to replace Theresa May as PM wants to "prepare for a no deal Brexit" and at the same time wants to "use money currently set aside for a no-deal Brexit to raise the 40% tax rate threshold to £80,000"...[from another forum but pretty much nails it imo]

GabriellaG54 Mon 10-Jun-19 14:31:00

kittylester

Rory 'neanderthal' Stewart? ??

GillT57 Mon 10-Jun-19 14:11:38

And still, none of them have ever mentioned the 48% of us who did not vote for future penury and joblessness and increased food prices. They are all talking their talk around how they will implement Brexit, even to the extent of ridding the cabinet ( and party, see case of Gauk and Greeve) of those who do not believe in Brexit. Stalinist culls are nothing on this bunch. If you can grit your teeth and ignore her tone of voice, just listen to the scary stuff that McVey was spouting on the Marr show yesterday.

Iam64 Mon 10-Jun-19 14:02:53

We are indeed living in interesting times. I hope those who believe Gove is toast are right. Loathsome hypocrite who was dreadful in Education, dreadful in Justice and so dishonest and self seeking when he stabbed Boris in the back during the last leadership election. I've no truck for Boris but Gove and Boris both remind us of that saying that we should keep our friends close and enemies closer.

I'm in a place of outrage that the tory shires get to choose the next PM with absolutely no input from the country, when Brexit leaves us more divided than ever.

GillT57 Mon 10-Jun-19 13:42:29

Callistemon that keeps going through my head too grin

Callistemon Mon 10-Jun-19 13:16:18

May you live in interesting times.

GillT57 Mon 10-Jun-19 12:43:56

crystaltips Johnson has a very different moral compass to me. His lies and affairs have been talked about on here many times and I just cannot understand why he is still being considered as a potential leader. Sometimes, in the past, a politician has been forgiven his personal morality problems because he is a great inspiration, a strong leader, but Johnson is not even that. He made a very dangerous hash of being Foreign Secretary and spent appalling amounts of money while Mayor of London on fanciful, nonsensical projects and purchases. Garden bridge.....water cannon.... He is an absolute arse and unfit for public office, let alone the most senior position. I truly despair.
