Names are coming along at a regular basis, and with May having a meeting with Brady today, it is likely that she will be persuaded to give a date of her departure.

So let’s start looking at who would make the most suitable Tory leader.

The first out of the hat is Boris Johnson.
His first hurdle is facing court to defend the charge of lying before the referendum.

Anniebach Sun 26-May-19 11:40:27

Thank you Mycat, yes a shame, when Foot’s manifesto was announced *Kaufmang said it was’ the longest suicide vote in history ‘ true , the 1983 election

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 11:39:27

Interesting to see how it pans out

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 11:38:18

Oh I don’t think she’s the reigning in kind!

maryeliza54 Sun 26-May-19 11:37:30

Oh I think SV will be reined in if
MG gets it ( but he won’t - BJ will see to that)

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 11:35:37

Indeed they do.

Remember the sun headline that helped kinnock to loose the election.

MG and SV make a very powerful couple if he becomes PM.

The only “Georgie Campbell” I could find on Google.
No MP of that name confused

Gonegirl Sun 26-May-19 11:26:32

* maryeliza54* what posts?! Where?! confused

maryeliza54 Sun 26-May-19 11:22:24

Influential and rubbish can and frequently do, co-exist.

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 11:19:46

She does indeed but the DM is very influential.

like it or,like me,loathe it.

Anniebach Sun 26-May-19 11:19:41

Democratic socialism,? Milliband v Milliband, David was the favourite with MP’s and membership but affiliates (unions) voted for Ed, so Ed won in 4th round

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 11:18:52

Anniebach

Your list is true and completely shows us how mistakes are made.

It should have never been Foot/Ed or Corbyn but Healey/David and Yvette.

What a shame

maryeliza54 Sun 26-May-19 11:17:46

Actually the word rubbish is superfluous as given where they are printed, it’s a given

maryeliza54 Sun 26-May-19 11:16:54

She writes rubbish columns in the DM

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 11:14:22

Goves wife is very influential though isn’t she?

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 11:13:17

I was going to ask that too Maw but was too scared unless she was quite high profile and I had missed her grin

Anniebach Sun 26-May-19 11:12:07

My point is ‘ favourites as given by the media rarely win

maryeliza54 Sun 26-May-19 11:08:07

MGs wife is a nightmare. BJ will be moving his daughter’s friend in -sorry I mean stb wife

Grany Sun 26-May-19 11:06:32

Anniebach Labour is democratic socialism

Whitewavemark2 Sun 26-May-19 10:58:23

annie and your point is?

Anniebach Sun 26-May-19 10:55:28

Thinking of labour leadership elections,

Foot beat Healy

Ed Milliband beat David Milliband

Corbyn beat Yvette Cooper

MawBroonsback Sun 26-May-19 10:55:20

Who is Georgie Campbell ?

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 10:54:24

No it’s explained to you but you just don’t agree with the explanations that’s a completely different thing.

Perfectly ok not to agree of course

maddyone Sun 26-May-19 10:53:45

Probably the most important reason for remainers to vote remain was the economic arguments. Probably the most important reason for leavers to vote leave was democracy.
No doubt I’ll be put right very forcefully by both sides now.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 26-May-19 10:51:35

I’m not interested why anyone voted leave on an individual basis. I thought initially to try to understand, but rapidly realised I was on a loosing wicket trying to understand what is clearly the unexplainable, so don’t bother any more.
