Names are coming along at a regular basis, and with May having a meeting with Brady today, it is likely that she will be persuaded to give a date of her departure.

So let’s start looking at who would make the most suitable Tory leader.

The first out of the hat is Boris Johnson.
His first hurdle is facing court to defend the charge of lying before the referendum.

I always wonder why remainers demand leavers reason to leave.

Surely there are many reasons people voted both leave or remain?

GabriellaG54 Sun 26-May-19 10:43:27

I doubt whether leavers have to produce reasons to a GN 'committee' of remainers who could find all the answers they crave on Google.
Failing that, why not tweet the questions?

Gone read my post FHS

Much prefer Gove to Boris.

I think he would also be a much better match against Corbyn.

GabriellaG54 Sun 26-May-19 10:38:37

If it's a female PM then it has to be one with a goodly amount of grit and determination.
An iron fist in a velvet glove.
Someone with a smidgen more testosterone than the average female.
I vote for either Esther McVey or Georgie Campbell.

Gonegirl Sun 26-May-19 10:36:44

Interesting to hear that the favourite in leadership polls has never actually been the winner. So Gove it probably is then. he'll probably be good.

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 10:35:17

I would very much like to know why Gove withdrew support for Boris at the last minute.

GracesGranMK3 Sun 26-May-19 10:32:48

Could a Brexiteer form a Government Urmstongran? How many Conservative MPs have said the will leave the Party if an extremist is elected? How will they command a majority in Parliament. Buck House will not be taken in again.

It think your view of the way things are going must be because you only really listen to people you agree with. I can see no evidence to support it.

Gonegirl Sun 26-May-19 10:30:00

Ok. For the thickie amongst us, what does AFOAMCL stand for?

He's got a spouse named Shoshana. confused

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 10:29:40

Maw

You May be right! grin

maryeliza54 Sun 26-May-19 10:15:37

It’s nothing to do with their sex but everything to do with their lack of ability EM, AL, LT all useless in varying ways. As for the men - apart from RS????

MawBroonsback Sun 26-May-19 10:14:48

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 10:11:24

Think you May be right
My iPad insists on trying to spell “may “ with a capital M too. Do you think they have been brainwashed?

pigsmayfly. Sun 26-May-19 10:14:16

I could not trust Boris after the fabrication of his last campaign. Thank you Whitewave for bringing the forthcoming court case to our attention. I could not trust Gove after he turned his position on Boris in the last leadership campaign. I have no idea who would be ok for this role

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 10:11:24

Think you May be right Urmstongran anything is better for business than this impass.

FarNorth Sun 26-May-19 10:10:14

Very likely, Urmstongran.
After months of internal squabbling and no attention at all being paid to the good of the UK.
(Including the MPs' lengthy summer break, of course)

MawBroonsback Sun 26-May-19 10:09:29

Very true FarNorth !

Urmstongran Sun 26-May-19 10:07:44

Well I think the tide is turning.

Leavers seem joyous.
Remain voters are rattled.

We will be out on 31 October. No second referendum. No GE.

In my opinion.
?

Anniebach Sun 26-May-19 10:07:28

Certain it will not be another woman

FarNorth Sun 26-May-19 10:06:57

Why shouldn't it be another woman?
Can you ever imagine anyone saying "I don't think it'll be another man, this time."?

Urmstongran Sun 26-May-19 10:04:30

I don’t think it’ll be another woman just yet. But it will be a Brexiteer.

Bring it on. Let’s get out.

maryeliza54 Sun 26-May-19 10:04:19

No I won’t Urm

maryeliza54 Sun 26-May-19 10:03:44

Interesting point GG. I will ponder further on that

Urmstongran Sun 26-May-19 10:03:10

Oh don’t be so po-faced mareleza. It’s Sunday, lighten up!

But thank you for putting me straight.
?

FarNorth Sun 26-May-19 10:01:19

A general election sounds like a good idea except, what UK party is there worth voting for?

GracesGranMK3 Sun 26-May-19 10:01:07

I suppose - although after some of the puerile posts on here I don't know why I make that assumption - the you know the Leader of Conservative Party will not necessarily be PM? Whoever it is will have to be able to show they can form a government. I don't think Buck House will let the Queen be put in the position May put her in when she told her the deal with the DUP was done and dusted. I am sure they will want to be sure this time.
