Bluebell is quite right - defending racist behaviour and actions makes you just as racist as the perpetrator.

It's just a quite mind blowingly awful thing to say and do, completely unforgivable . Racist? who knows, but cruel in the extreme? certainly. A comment like this would have been considered appalling 50 years ago! Where on earth has this vile man been that he seems to think this funny? The whole thing beggars belief!

I will, because it has puzzled me - calling someone 'coloured' is not politically correct now, but Dianne Abbott uses the term 'person of colour' - as a politically correct statement.

You will see very strident language used when racism is being challenged Mycate. The solution of course is not to exhibit racist behaviour in the first place - although I doubt that any language used in this context can be as ugly as racism itself and the actions of racists over the years.
