A Party Political Broadcast on behalf of The Brexit Party is on BBC1

Nonnie Fri 24-May-19 16:55:17

Just seen the answer to my own question, significantly higher turnout in all areas. I see you have commented on other thread lemon was my question not worth answering?

GabriellaG54 Fri 24-May-19 16:52:11

That was to coral toes. YKWIM

Joelsnan Fri 24-May-19 16:51:59

Urmstongran
??

GabriellaG54 Fri 24-May-19 16:51:16

????

Nonnie Fri 24-May-19 16:48:23

Yet again Urmmmmm you won't provide the facts to back up your statement. Quelle Surprise!

Urmstongran Fri 24-May-19 16:39:30

I refuse to be drawn this time Nonnie. I’ve learned by experience.

Good try though.

lemon I've been out most of the day, do we have voting figures? Our polling station was busier than usual as was a friend's

lemongrove Fri 24-May-19 16:31:30

If there has been a low turn out for MEP voting then I suppose it means that few will now bother voting for any political party in a GE.
After all, this was a chance to have your say.

Nonnie Fri 24-May-19 16:26:53

Thank you Dinah I'm not bothering to address my comments to each one because they are simply not worth the trouble.

a) I am not prone to "her feelings are well known to be hurt quite often" as one suggested. I doubt they will give me examples because they throw out these things without any backup

b) The woman from the council who I told about what happened was inside at the time and we walked out together and continued the conversation. I told her I didn't want to make a formal complaint but later decided I did so have done so.

c) obviously it was verbal, it was clear and no one could have heard it as anything other that we did. It was blatantly obvious and even the woman sitting next to him looked shocked.

The assumption that because I don't agree with you I am wrong about what happened should beggar belief but actually doesn't. However it does mean that I no longer respect any of you who turns my experience against me. I now consider you to be people whose opinions are not valid and it confirms my belief that you won't tell me why you want to leave as you don't have valid reasons.

Certain well know leavers on here will dismiss anything they don't like and call fact 'fiction'. That just about says it all. If one of them had someone try to convince them to vote LibDem they would be on here telling us how badly they had been treated and I am sure we would all agree with them. Shame on you

lemongrove Fri 24-May-19 16:26:47

Is it any wonder that the country is in turmoil when mature women on here reply so childishly to comments?
My post saying don’t take things too seriously on GN ( or any forum) is a wise one, since some seem to have raised blood pressure about anything they read and dislike.
MaizieD I tend to read (most) comments on a thread, including yours, even when I din’t agree with the views expressed.
Brid You are correct in saying that maybe GN isn’t a ‘lifeline’ for me, it isn’t, but it’s one of three forums I enjoy posting on.People just shouldn’t ( for their own sanity) take everything to heart, written by strangers on social media.

GillT57 Fri 24-May-19 16:16:49

I stand corrected Maizie, but I thought that a political party had to have a membership? The Brexit party does not as far as I am aware. Still, in this alternative universe that we are living in at the moment, I am not sure of anything anymore. A country that can even consider having a liar like Boris as party leader/PM needs to have a good look at itself. If we think we are being mocked internationally, we ain't seen nothing yet! Can you imagine Boris and Trump in the same room? Clash of egos and hair, and morals and ability to tell the truth and ....oh it depresses me even more as I think of it.

crystaltipps Fri 24-May-19 16:16:32

It just has no members, and is undemocratic. I think it’s called a dictatorship, or maybe more accurately autocratic.

Urmstongran Fri 24-May-19 16:08:50

Thank you for clarifying that MaizieD
?

MaizieD Fri 24-May-19 15:58:29

I'm afraid it is a political party, GillT57. It is a registered political party. It wouldn't have been able to get a free mailing of its EP election leaflet to all registered voters if it wasn't.

GillT57 Fri 24-May-19 15:50:37

Varian. I think the BBC need reminding too that 'The Brexit Party' is NOT a political party, it is at most a pressure group.

a group that tries to influence public policy in the interest of a particular cause

Even if GG54 and her buddies have paid their dues to worship at the feet of Farage, he is not a Member of Parliament, and has tried 7 times to do so.

Dinahmo Fri 24-May-19 15:48:30

Nonnie - I must first apologise for misspelling your name on Thursday. I've only just read this thread again. Secondly, I hope that the comments on here from a few individuals haven't upset you.

Urmstongran Fri 24-May-19 15:38:30

I don’t think we’re sad!
?

Labaik Fri 24-May-19 15:09:29

confused [again]...

GabriellaG54 Fri 24-May-19 14:53:49

As a pacifist, there are certain things I would never do or say but some people... (flexes fist)

Bridgeit Fri 24-May-19 14:53:16

What a sad bunch of Gnetters we are!

MaizieD Fri 24-May-19 14:49:23

Well, lemon, you can be absolutely sure that I never take any of your posts seriously. In fact, I rarely bother to read them. I'm sure this is mutual.

Bridgeit Fri 24-May-19 14:44:23

What is the point then Lemons?
For some of us ,this may be the only place that we get to interact with others & to share opinions.
To you it may be just something you engage in when your bored etc etc . To others it is a lifeline

lemongrove Fri 24-May-19 14:21:42

No Labaik I am not saying that at all......I am saying not to take GN posts too seriously.Quite a different thing altogether.

Labaik Fri 24-May-19 14:18:32

You mean to say that the current state of British politics is something to 'not take too seriously'. Are you serious about that sad ?

lemongrove Fri 24-May-19 14:10:04

.....and not to take posts too seriously.
