Remainers keep asking for a Confirmatory vote well in my opinion this is it. All voters have one Vote use it today to vote Leave or Remain at your polling station.

Official results on Sunday night but feel free to do a GN vote here as well if so inclined.

I take your point maggie but believe that condoning the breaching of rules in such a way, has to be questioned. Also I don't choose to be hectored by someone who is so lacking in basic knowledge.
But you're right so I am off to do something more useful than reading this brexit nonsense.

Firecracker123 Thu 23-May-19 17:14:37

Why indeed.

Ex pats can choose where they want to register their vote

Maggiemaybe Thu 23-May-19 17:12:07

I should add that I voted Labour with no great enthusiasm. I hate to think that one day I’ll be so disenchanted that I won’t use my hard-won vote, but I fear that time may come.

Maggiemaybe Thu 23-May-19 17:08:24

Well I voted Remain in the referendum but do not agree that we should have a second one, so could discount most options. I voted Labour, btw.

Why does every thread on News & Politics have to descend into a slanging match?

dayvidg Thu 23-May-19 17:05:48

Slightly confused. First we have non-UK nationals complaining about difficulties registering to vote in the UK; then it's UK nationals living in France complaining about not getting their postal voting forms in time to vote in the UK. If eligibility is based on residency, why are ex-pats not voting in THEIR country of residence?

mcem Thu 23-May-19 17:03:31

Simply pointing out a very basic mistake.
And you wonder why some of us are less than happy that such misinformation is peddled by many an NF supporter. Says it all really!
Or put another way.....
Why so ill-informed? Is it a leaver trait?

Firecracker123 Thu 23-May-19 16:31:31

mcem why so nasty is it a remainer trait?

Firecracker123 Thu 23-May-19 16:23:28

GracesGran why so nasty, of course I know it's not a referendum lol but Remainers are always going on about a Confirmatory referendum so with that in mind and the Brexit Party being for Leave and the Lib Dems being Remain its just a bit of light hearted fun and the official result on Sunday will be an indication of how the voters feel.

lemongrove Thu 23-May-19 16:22:13

Perhaps some posters like to verify things first, before they start condemning.
If any EU nationals did apply in good time to vote and didn’t receive what they needed, then it’s either the council employees or the PO to blame. It’s not a vast conspiracy.

mcem Thu 23-May-19 16:21:34

Ps that very basic information was for the wildly enthusiastic but ill-informed firecracker!

mcem Thu 23-May-19 16:19:30

I voted for the consistently anti-brexit party who returned the excellent MEP, Alyn Smith. I am confident he'll be returned again.
Would just point out that Great Britain is not an EU constituency. It's United Kingdom (at least for now).

Whitewavemark2 Thu 23-May-19 16:15:48

The people that should be most annoyed about this vote denial are the leavers as they are the ones that have pratted on about lack of democracy etc. But seem strangely silent.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 23-May-19 16:12:53

Channel 4 wants to hear from anyone unable to vote.

Should this be something the BBC be doing?

lemongrove Thu 23-May-19 16:12:10

All you have provided are some twitter comments trisher
When I am off GN I will look at reliable sources.

Wrong lemon you still haven’t read the reports

crystaltipps Thu 23-May-19 16:05:43

I expect Primark do a nice line in brownshirts for the after party. What flavour milkshakes will be served? Or will it be that lamb hog roast again?

lemongrove Thu 23-May-19 16:04:55

If you are denied a vote on the day it’s likely you didn’t apply in time.
Why do some get all worked up as if it’s a conspiracy.....and by who for heavens sake?

Surely you can’t be considered a democracy if people are denied a vote?

Whitewavemark2 Thu 23-May-19 15:56:02

#deniedmyvote trending. 50k tweets so far

Very worrying.

GracesGranMK3 Thu 23-May-19 15:53:34

In a poll taken over the weekend callistemon 49% said the were voting to show their preference for Brexit/EU which means 51% were not. How can you draw any conclusions from thathmm

eazybee Thu 23-May-19 15:49:14

Voided my vote; protest against this election which should never have been called.
