Remainers keep asking for a Confirmatory vote well in my opinion this is it. All voters have one Vote use it today to vote Leave or Remain at your polling station.

Official results on Sunday night but feel free to do a GN vote here as well if so inclined.

Nonnie Sun 26-May-19 17:07:50

Calandargirl thank you, that is the response I expected from reasonable people. I think we have now all seen the GNs who think they are cleverer/better than the rest of/superior education etc who have now shown how immature and bitchy they are. We all now know how much notice to take of the opinions of such unpleasant people. I rest my case.

Mycatisahacker
That particular post was to Nonnie, suggesting fun ways to free up her inner spirit and be less pedantic. ☺
Me? I don't drink and don't fancy dancing on gravel (no lawn) ouch! ???

GabriellaG54 Sun 26-May-19 14:39:32

Whoever GabbyG in her late 70s is, better answer the poster before she goes on the warpath....again.

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 13:29:40

Seems there’s bullying to GG but I suppose that’s ok is it?

mokryna Sun 26-May-19 13:17:29

I believe in the Conservative manifesto several years ago and reaffirmed more recently said that British was for life therefore could vote but this right has not come to life.

mokryna Sun 26-May-19 13:13:17

Nonnie Thank you yes I am going down that path but I didn't want to

Welshwife Sun 26-May-19 13:07:49

I voted for one of the French lists today - we had registered at the Mairie for both local and European elections - we cannot vote in the Presidential elections.
We are still registered in U.K. and wish to keep that right in case of a General Election or another referendum - the results of either could have ramifications for us as well as our families in U.K.
Our U.K. voting papers did arrive but as lots of strange things have been happening to papers from Europe when going back to U.K. we chose to exercise our right in the country we are living in.

“Matron! She’s off again! “

Roll on the floor and giggle, dance naked around the garden at midnight with a vodka mule...anything to free oneself from the restrictive truss of whatever it is which limits you

Oh dear GabbyG, what might be a hoot, daring, or even liberated in a 40 year old, takes on a whole new grotesque and frankly ridiculous aspect when the person suggesting it is in their late 70’s.
Who, frankly, are you kidding?
Yourself?

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 12:54:42

Yes Nonnie it’s my life’s work to drive you away!

Dear lord!

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 12:40:20

Gabriella

So that’s how you spend your evenings I always suspected grin

Nonnie Sun 26-May-19 12:39:10

Sorry mokryna no idea why that's the rule though. Can you get French nationality and keep your British one? Think that might be a good idea in case it all gets nasty. I know lots of people who have gained DN because of Brexit. I think the only country that has come out strongly saying they was the Brits is Portugal.

mokryna Sun 26-May-19 12:31:13

Because I felt so English I didn't take dual nationality so therefore deprived of French Presidential voting. So that equals not vote anywhere.
How can people say they don't want to vote as it too much of a bother after all the suffragettes went through to get the woman's vote?
It makes me quite angry

mokryna Sun 26-May-19 12:27:11

English

mokryna Sun 26-May-19 12:26:58

Yes but am still British!!!!!!

Nonnie Sun 26-May-19 12:24:56

mokryna I think that you have to have lived outside the UK for less than 15 years, was that the reason?

mokryna Sun 26-May-19 12:22:05

PS I also was not allowed to the French Presidential vote

mokryna Sun 26-May-19 12:20:40

Welshwife How did you vote this morning in UK as I have been unable to vote because I am living in France although I asked for my rights as a postal voter, it was refused.

Nonnie Sun 26-May-19 12:18:10

Thanks Welshwife & Maryeliza yes, we don't have to agree to have reasonable debate but there is no excuse for bitchiness/bullying.

Have you noticed that all the comments about lightening up etc are just what bullies say when they are pretending not to be bullies. Say something bitchy and then blame the person who calls them out on it.

Freedom of expression is fine but to suggest that I am not telling the truth is not freedom of expression it is playground bullying. Calling bitchiness 'a joke' is just another thing nasty bullies in the school playground do.

If this had happened to a leave voter you would have all been up in arms and so would remainers. Your judgement is clearly not to be trusted. No, you are not going to drive me away and I will not sink to your level.

Calendargirl Sun 26-May-19 12:12:42

Re Nonnie’s post .

As stated by others, if the poll clerk handing out ballot papers showed bias of any kind, then he should not be doing the job. I am a poll clerk at elections, and impartiality is considered of the utmost importance. Not a trivial matter.

GabriellaG54 Sun 26-May-19 11:55:55

Roll on the floor and giggle, dance naked around the garden at midnight with a vodka mule...anything to free oneself from the restrictive truss of whatever it is which limits you.
I'm sure there are some ways we could help you remove the barricades. A day at a time...eh?
Have a good BH. smileflowers

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 11:53:12

As I said Brexit seems to have robbed the country of a sense of humour.

People see those who disagree with their leave or remain stance as ‘the enemy’ and light hearted fun or discussion is impossible.

The sooner this is settled the better and hopefully we can all get back to a normal sense of proportion and move on.

GabriellaG54 Sun 26-May-19 11:40:49

We don't actually care Nonnie. It's not the end of the world.
What is the matter that you make mountains out of grains of sand?

GabriellaG54 Sun 26-May-19 11:38:09

I suggest Nonnie, that you are on a path so narrow that there is no room for any freedom of expression.
Some posts sound as if they come from a brand of porridge oats and you take umbrage so swiftly and seriously at the slightest thing.
Lighten up.

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 11:32:02

Christ almighty what a monumental fuss about a minor incident.

I already apologised that I upset you. It was a joke. If you can’t accept that up to you.
