Remainers keep asking for a Confirmatory vote well in my opinion this is it. All voters have one Vote use it today to vote Leave or Remain at your polling station.

Official results on Sunday night but feel free to do a GN vote here as well if so inclined.

I don’t always agree with Nonnie but she’s always open and willing to debate points and I’m sure she would never have posted something that happened personally to her unless it were completely true.

Welshwife Sun 26-May-19 11:08:06

Well said Nonnie

Nonnie Sun 26-May-19 11:05:44

mycat I accept your apology but would point out that 'only joking' is an expression used by bullies when they are caught out and trying to cover up. I am disgusted with the way I have been treated about this, sad that grown adults can be so bitchy and think it is 'fun'.

What happened to me is not about our differences of opinion but about something which should never have happened, the man behaved badly and should not be allowed to work in a polling station again.

Posters who make it clear they don't trust what I said should look to their own minds because it says far more about the way they think than anything they know about me. It suggests that they would come on here with falsehoods. I defy any of you to find a lie from me anywhere on Gn. It gives great cause to wonder about the judgement of those people. You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves.

I do have opinions on international figures but strangely those policies of Macron do affect me directly as I live in France.
When he was elected President he was the one who initially stood out and few of the other candidates did and the run off was between him and Marine Le Pen - so the French went for the safer bet! I had no vote in that election but I have voted this morning.

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 10:52:26

WelshWife

Do you only have views on people whose policies affect you?

Don’t you have views on international figures? How strange

Mycatisahacker Sun 26-May-19 10:50:56

I detest Macron as he’s an arrogant man. I don’t like arrogant men.

maddyone Sat 25-May-19 23:44:39

Macron comes across as quite arrogant, perhaps that’s why mycat doesn’t like him. I’m not keen myself really. To be honest, I don’t much care for any politicians, wherever they live, and whoever they are. I think they probably go into it thinking of the people they’re about to serve, but they seem to forget that once they’ve been elected, and the vast majority of them look after themselves, hence the expenses scandal, and accusations of the gravy train in Brussels.

lemongrove Sat 25-May-19 22:15:24

Meant to add......with or without his policies.

lemongrove Sat 25-May-19 22:14:51

You can detest a politician without their policies affecting you Welshwife......after all, I detest Sturgeon.
In any case I have read that quite a few French people detest
Macron.

Welshwife Sat 25-May-19 22:10:57

Why do you detest Macron mycat? Do any of his policies affect you in any way?

Mycatisahacker Fri 24-May-19 23:30:50

Omg!!!! Yawn

varian Fri 24-May-19 20:13:34

No, fake news is fake news, or as we used to say LIES.

Mycatisahacker Fri 24-May-19 19:55:59

It’s Brexit Gonegirl it has finally sent me off my head!

Oops I was only joking I hope I haven’t really offended anyone because we are all mature women grin and hopefully can debate and have a joke. I know every poster is totally genuine in thinking their opinion is right and every opinion is valid.

I do think mind that Brexit is killing humour. I hope not. At our age we can always see the ridiculous. grin as in Parliament. grin

varian I agree but fake news is in the eye of the beholder isn’t it. wink

varian Fri 24-May-19 19:18:01

Trump's fake news is no more fake news than the power of Putin is fake news. A lot of brainwashing has been going on for many years. Wake up and see it happening before it is too late.

Gonegirl Fri 24-May-19 18:23:22

Flip me mycat!. the "waving white powder" was going it a bit! "

Labaik Fri 24-May-19 18:04:26

Voters in the North East came in for a shock yesterday after discovering the Brexit party’s main candidate lists his primary residence in France.
The list of registered parties showed that, although most parties were fielding candidates who resided in the region, the party campaigning to leave the EU was the only one to put forward a candidate living in Europe.
Brian Monteith is running to be North East MEP for Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party...….I thought, yesterday that this was fake news, but it doesn't seem to be so. Can anyone make any sense of this [?]….

Mycatisahacker Fri 24-May-19 18:03:25

I was only teasing you are quite welcome to tease me back. grin sorry if I offended you

Mycatisahacker Fri 24-May-19 17:58:19

Oh Nonnie lighten up please.

Come on these Russian conspiracy theories are as daft as trumps fake news.

And I postal vote. It’s far easier and you don’t get any hassle.

Nonnie Fri 24-May-19 17:52:26

mycat that was very childish. You were not there and there was no one in my booth and no one gave me a pencil. Didn't you vote or do you have a problem with your short term memory? Presumably you have difficulty in understanding fact from fiction as well as discriminating who is telling the truth and who is not. That should be based on what you have previously observed about the person of whom you are bitching. Or perhaps you are just playing to the gallery of your little gang? Whatever your behaviour about this has shown you in a very poor light.

Mycatisahacker Fri 24-May-19 17:46:08

Agree Lemongrove it’s nail biting.

I have no truck with Le Penn but I detest Macron. Vile man

Mycatisahacker Fri 24-May-19 17:42:38

I think I actually saw Putin lurking inside the polling booth! He told me to vote Brexit and was waving white powder.

Then I woke up and realised the man in the booth was holding out a pencil.

Honestly grin

GabriellaG54 Fri 24-May-19 17:01:57

No respect classes in Grammar schools.
Skin rhymes with thin.

lemongrove Fri 24-May-19 16:36:10

Pity we have to wait until Sunday night to see how everyone voted.?

Nonnie Fri 24-May-19 16:31:41

maddy no we hadn't voted it was the man who handed us our ballot papers.

No need to patronise me Gabby I am calm I just think you are being very unpleasant with your insinuations and should be, what you claim, well educated etc. However your education seems to have failed in some aspects, respect for others is certainly one.

crystaltipps Fri 24-May-19 16:12:58

Thing isn’t the European populist parties maybe Eurosceptic, and nationalistic, but they want to form alliances within the EU, not break it up.
Interesting reading the turnout figures for Thursdays elections- low 30% in the north east, 40% + in London, not much different from 2014. So whatever the result , it will only reflect the minority who bothered to vote.
