Was woken by a phone call, very early and I couldn’t find my glasses, I don’t know why but I have to have them on when speaking on the phone.It was Len, he said he couldn't sleep for worrying so there may as well be two of us worrying.I started to say I couldn’t find the logic in that but he butted in, saying he would cut to the chase or we would be here all day, and what the hell was I playing at, hinting at a second referendum!
I’m playing the long game I told him, I have all sorts of plans up my sleeve.What?! He cried, don’t go off piste now Jeremy or we’ll be in deep sh**e ( Len can be a little earthy at times.)Stick to what we decided ages ago, the Tories’ll get us out of the EU which is what we want, but if things go a bit pear shaped at first, we can blame them and mop up the votes at the next election.Stand firm, he yelled and put the phone down.
I must admit I felt a bit miffed, I mean I always stand firm don’t I? I made an early cup of camomile tea as I felt rather shaken.Feel it may be one of those days today.

I never did read Private Eye, is it still going? I always imagined they did ‘stronger’ stuff than my little offering.
I just happened to be in Islington, and his front door was open and the diary left by the phone in the hall and I couldn’t resist a peek.
