Bloody Trump, sticking his nose in!
The arrogance of the man
Who was President Obama to tell us how to vote in the referendum, peddling project fear? Laughable when at the time, he wasn't even going to be in power for much longer!!!
Exactly Beckett, its so easy to take things out of context and alter the meaning!!! The Chinese are pretty loathsome, but on here clearly no one thinks so! We welcomed them with courtesy, kept the few protesters well away, insulting balloons?!! I don't think so! Having said that, I wouldn't have had it conducted any differently, ditto many other dreadful heads of state over the years that have paid us a visit!
Surely our long term relationship with the U.S.A is far more important than one transitory President?!!
I like most on here loathe Trump, however the American people voted for him to be their leader (or was it a case of voting against the odious Hilary Clinton?), as such it is correct that there should be a State Visit. Rather than protest about this visit I would have preferred it to be ignored as much as possible, the least media coverage the better!
I am SO pleased that he supports Boris for the position of Conservative Leader. Hopefully that may influence some of those involved in choosing our next PM, to avoid voting for him!
Trump needs to keep out of interfering with other peoples' trade negotiations. Watch what he's brewing with China and with Iran. What started off as a trade war between China and the US has deepened into something far more contentious and dangerous. We don't want to mimic that negotiation technique.
He's in no position to give advice. Don't forget his personal failed business ventures. He's filed for bankruptcy several times.

Tension between Tehran and Washington is increasing with banks and companies reviewing evacuation plans in case of escalation. Don't want to mimic those negotiation techniques thank you Donald.
Who is he to promote candidates for leader of the Tories or promoting Farage as negotiator with the EU? Why listen to a failed negotiator?
BlueBelle I heard that interview and what he actually said was "It is up to them but as I have been asked my opinion....." However it seems the BBC have decided to edit his comments. I am not a supporter of Trump - he scares me witless but I am in favour of unbiased, unedited reporting.
I don’t understand this “ people are fed up with politicians.” Politicians have more understanding of politics than property developers and hedge fund managers. Trump’s comments today show he has no understanding of the Brexit process by his assumption that it is just like a business deal. Many of those in his government have left or have been sacked because their advice was ignored or they dared to disagree with him. Running a country is not the same as running a business. And, by the way, he wasn’t even very good at that, despite what he says!
That's fine Urmstongran, no one says the protesters in London speak for everyone but they certainly represent a fair chunk of public opinion.
BlueBelle's description of Trump is acceptable to me. He's loathsome and dangerous.
However, he's the President and it's a state visit (is it, it's a formal visit anyway) so I'm disappointed that Jeremy Corbyn won't attend the state dinner with the Queen. It feels a bit 1970's SWP protest, rather than the behaviour of the leader of Her Maj's Opposition.
This isn't a Jeremy bashing comment honest, just a reflection of how I feel. Loathe the Trumpster, absolutely ok with public protests about him and his ego / visit but, it seems rude to Her Maj and the position of Leader of the Opposition to take your bat and ball home.
I see absolutely no reason to treat President Trump with discourtesy, in fact it just puts this country in a bad light and makes us look like a rabble. Much better just to ignore him if you feel that strongly, the same goes for Parliament! nothing worse than speaking to an empty room! After all we welcomed the Chinese without mass demonstations, or do we not care about their human rights record, Tiananmen Square or admittedly way further back, Tibet, to name just a few?!!
My blood pressure totally fine thanks ummm now going to the beach lovely day here ?
Don’t hold back. Let it all spew out it might lower your blood pressure.
?
haters are always going to hate
What a lot there is to hate racist, homophobe, misogynist, sexist, egotistical, narcissistic, unintelligent, bombastic, whiner, stirrer, liar, spreader of fake news, insincere immigrant hater but married immigrants, son of ku klux klan parents (immigrant mother) and grandson of a man (immigrant) who built his empire on brothels I m sure others can add to the list
Trump has a great fondness for Great Britain, he has tremendous respect for the Queen and our shared history, and he's proud of his Scottish heritage.
The first thing he did as President was reinstall the bust of Winston Churchill in a prominent place in the Oval Office, where it remains. He is a personable, gregarious man, with a good sense of humour most of the time and sometimes a temper.
I bet some of the things written about him are false, out of context, or only half true. Check out a right leaning or middle news site to get the other side!
How long does this state visit last? It's only a few days surely. In the greater scheme of things it, and Trump's reign, are small blots on the landscape, but severing ties with Europe is dangerous and lasting.
I hope someone can tell me I'm wrong.
I miss those awful puppets at times like these. What were they called? Spitting Image. The Trump one would have been a cracker.
Trump and his Russian friends have already caused a lot of damage to Europe.
I like him.
I can see his appeal and millions of people in the US from all spectrums of the country, voted for him.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he gets a second term (if he wants to stand).
People are fed up of politicians. He has a different background and fresh approach. He puts America first even if it alienates others.
I wish he’d been negotiating Brexit.
Obama was a great orator and a decent man but many over there said he didn’t achieve very much in his two terms of office. I remember the Remainers didn’t object to his coming over here to say we shouldn’t Brexit and if we did, we’d be last in the queue.
Haters are always gonna hate.
Today I hear the stirring shxxbxg has been telling us we should get out of Europe with no deal and not pay a penny we owe I can see that revving the leavers up to a ‘whoop whoop whoop we love you Donnie baby’ state
He needs to keep his sticky beak out of it and concentrate on the muddle that is his own country
He is a DANGEROUS stirrer and could cause unknown damage to Europe and us. He's doubly dangerous because he’s not very intelligent but clever in manipulation
I apologise to Absent for my error and for criticising her.
The Absent correction of her own post was carried out in a very similar way as would another forum member who continually tries to embarrass others in their spelling or grammar errors.
As you may see Absent the above can be "a very sore point" with some of us on the forum as those corrections can be aimed at persons suffering from such conditions as Dyslexia, arthritis or other mobility problems in the hands and arms.
However, once again, my apologies Absent.
Grandad1943 I posted my comment before I noticed that I had misspelled airport, so I corrected my twitchy-finger mistake immediately afterwards. I don't think that there is anything wrong with doing that.
Book deal ..
It isn't about governing- Its about money- It isn't about support- Its about placing bets, stocks, funds, ads on blogs, books and kickbacks-
The Obama's received 65 million for a joint book real-
People don't support Trump, they support policies that they stand to profit from- Granted its risky, but they take that chance-
The days of voting for representatives is drawing to a close, too few are in politics to serve the people, they are in it for themselves, so citizens may as well cast their ballots in the same fashion and vote for issues instead of individuals when they go to the polls-
No spelling police here Grandad1943, just absent correcting her own post.
absent Quote [ Only one p in airport.] End Quote.
Ohh, I see the spelling and grammar police are back on the forum, but like so many others on this forum who have embarrassed themselves in threads appear under a different name.
So, the the response to that is still the same, that being, sum of us didnt get much of an education sea as we only got secenday modurn on cousil esstats sea.
Melania might seek political asylum while she's here.
