In 1995 I was lecturing full time, with a two year old, and my husband worked away all week. Life was so hectic I often only had time to watch the news occasionally, no time to read the newspaper.

I remember reading the press when it was announced (1995?), knowing at the same time that I would be affected but also feeling rather incredulous that there wasn’t any sort of outcry at the time.

I know the Gov’t had to do something - but a whole 6 year delay, for me and others, is a huge chunk of time, when looked at as an actual percentage of our entire working lives.

I’m no mathematician ?, but I think it’s added on an extra 1/7th to my working life - which is hugely significant.

I feel that adding an extra year per decade going forwards would have been more equitable.

I knew all about it, and it didn't even affect me. I can't believe where these women have been to be so ignorant.

I am very sorry, however for both sexes who have only recently learned that they have to work until they are sixty-seven before they can claim their pension, however many years 'contributions they have made.

The only thing I have seen from the court was after the first day.
The court ruled that there was no obligation for the Government to be fair.

Not seen anything after that.

Let hope so SueDonium we should not be kept in the dark again.

Oh, interesting, Urmstongran. I knew the case was in court but I've been distracted by other things and didn't know that. I suppose the judgement will be made public at some point?

The WASPI action group is called Back to 60, I think.
You could use Google for updates.
I’d heard the recent judgement from the High Court was not for public knowledge yet - just the government.
Not sure whether this sounds promising or not!!

its what we've come to expect from the DWP ,the whole department isn't fit for purpose as the deaths among benefit claimants have illustrated and paying agencies MORE to stop peoples claims than the actual claims would have cost .

I've just joined the Newcastle WASPI group. I didn't find out about this until my 59th birthday, far too late to plan for the future - and then my husband died too. It's appalling.
