I despise Yaxley Lennon

EllanVannin .. I do not just like Paul Robeson I literally tell my children and grandchildren all about him because I value integrity above all else and Robeson was one outstanding man. He spoke of 20 languages fluently, for a start. The Welsh people revere him and have never forgotten him for standing with them (hard working Miners) no matter what the threat to himself. I learned of Robeson just 15 years ago, because he is blanked out of mainstream US as they rated him a communist. He was a boxer - actor, Shakesperian - singer - Top US footballer - political activist - writer - and above all as brave a man any one could name. When asked "why do you like Russia Mr Robeson"? He replied; No person in Russia ever called me NIGGER". He spoke fluent Russian. I done revere people because of the numbers game. If 2 billion people loved Churchill - it would not make any difference to me, I dont like churchill. I also do not object to others liking whomever they choose - you will not see a snide personal insult from me.

I dont want anyone banned NOT AT ALL. I totally value freedom of expression. I am never offended but will argue/debate a point. The fact a person on here, sounding holier than thou, wants to totally ban anyone, who THEY subjectively, disapprove, is a marker on British society today and why it is going down the pan fast. maddyone.... there has never, ever been an occurrence whereby a person has been sentenced to a term of imprisonment for civil contempt of court. Not ever in the history of UK. If that does not tell yo TR has been stitched up I dont know what will.

Free speech is very precious. We can disagree with what a person says, but we should value their right to say it.

Tommy Robinson is now in prison, not for spouting his vile views, but because he was in contempt of court.

Anja surely then by your reasoning the poster who started this thread titled 'I despise Yaxley Lennon' is guilty of hate. Just because you do not approve of some of the posts supporting Yaxley Lennon you want it shut down.
There are plenty of other threads on GN spuing hate, look at some of the hate posts directed at Ann Widdecombe, Nigel Farage, Boris and Trump.

You can't in my opinion shut down free speech and the posts and posters on GN are pussycats compared to the real world.

The move is the latest in a series of crackdowns by Facebook, beginning in February when it banned the rightwing activist Tommy Robinson under the same rules, and continuing in March when it reversed a longstanding policy that had allowed “white nationalists” and “white separatists” to post on the site, provided they steered clear of promoting “white supremacy”.

In a statement, Facebook said: “Individuals and organisations who spread hate, or attack or call for the exclusion of others on the basis of who they are, have no place on Facebook. “The individuals and organisations we have banned today violate this policy, and they will no longer be allowed a presence on Facebook or Instagram.

Posts and other content which expresses praise or support for these figures and groups will also be banned

The move was welcomed by the Labour MP Yvette Cooper, the chair of the home affairs select committee, who called it “long overdue”.

I’m personally disgusted with GN as they continue to allow posts that support these individuals and try to justify their message. Shame on you GN.

Johno splutter on like a fool with your silly comments about admiring Mohammed Ali and Paul Robeson, what do you want us to do? Applaud you? Frankly, if as a former member of law enforcement in various roles you fail or are unable to understand the legal reasons for the conviction and imprisoning of Robinson, then the only conclusion can be that you defend him because you think the same way as him. Cyclinknitter... I do say he is great. I also admire people of whom I do NOT always agree. It is easy and always the case one can set parameters. From slapping your son on the back and saying .. "your a great kid" to Audie Murphy who won every single medal/award for bravery, some 2 or 3 times over before he was 21 years old. He is clearly GREAT!!! My number 1 hero is Muhammad Ali I regard him as GREAT and so do multi-millions of people. I do not regard Churchill as GREAT. I rate Gandhi as one of my heros and DR King as an absolute true GREAT. My second position GREAT is Paul Robeson.
