No Deal Brexit Leaflet...

Last gov leaflet I can remember is the one about which foods to eat for health. It said jam was the only food with no benefit whatsoever to health!

How little they know! Nothing like a jam sarnie to cheer you up when you're a bit down.

When did May send out a leaflet full of scare stories? I don't think I received it.

It will be one hell of a leaflet if it can convince me that it is 'all for the best in the best of all possible worlds' I get more concerned each day as we head towards this self inflicted disaster. Two points I would like to make:
(1) I do not wish to hear anymore comments liking this self inflicted disaster to the war as (a) we did not vote for the war and (b) nobody on here lived through the war as an adult and can possibly have any idea of the difficulties involved, so stop please, especially Mark Francois, you are a stupid little man who is being wound up by the big boys to do their dirty work for them.
(2) I have yet to hear any member of this cult like cabinet refer to, let alone consider,the future of the many millions who did not vote for this, including those who voted leave, but not a no deal Brexit This could be a very serious mistake and one which will never be forgotten or forgiven.
Assuming that half of the people who voted leave were politically astute, economically literate and well educated in EU policies to realise that No Deal would be a disaster, that means we are being dragged into this by just around 8-9million people, of an electorate of 66million. Now look me in the eye and tell me that is democratic

Is it going to be an honest, truthful leaflet? If it is it may be helpful if a General Election is called. I have serious doubts about a no deal exit.

all this using of the word 'war'; makes me thinks of little boys playing soldiers. Silly men.

I think it will tell us that any problems will only be temporary. These will be blamed on the EU. We will be told we need to put aside our differences however we voted in 2016 and be united in this time of crisis. Stiff upper lip and all that, you know.

Urmstongran, not for the first time could I ask you to stop being so personal and constantly calling people, whose politics you disagree with, derogatory names. We do not suggest you have some form of hyper-mania because you believe all the dross coming out of the Johnson government but I may need to start if all you can manage, on a politics thread, is abuse.

It could be a 'Don't Panic!' leaflet that will get even some of the most ardent head in the sand, everything will be alright, don't be so negative Leavers into a panic!

No doubt it will be similar to the leaflet that May sent out full of scare stories that most people binned because May was a dyed in the wool Remainer & was never going to leave .Difference is Boris is much more positive & is a Brexiteer who is trying to get us a much better deal than May’s trash.I think the EU will give us a better deal in the end because it benefits them too & if they don’t at least we will be ready for a ‘No Deal’.

They're definitely going to be in that leaflet, are they? That's a lot of text for one small leaflet, but if they can provide clarity and transparency in a letterbox sized leaflet then fantastic!

Well the £9 million David Cameron spent on his leaflet persuading us to stay prior to the referendum was a waste of money, I feel the same about the “no deal” one.

Hammond didn’t want Brexit on No Deal. Neither does Boris.

But if the E.U. won’t budge (why should they with their rules based organisation that we have voted to Leave) then we have to go out on WTO rules. Time to ramp up the preparations!

No, it will be a rallying cry to remind us all that the UK should prepare itself for hard and heavy tidings - but in the end (end date being somewhat vague...) it will be really, really great!

We had something similar up here during the Scottish independence referendum. Those of us who voted no (for a myriad of reasons) were accused of being scared - that independence represented "hope over fear", as if being scared of what something so light on detail and so significant was going to mean for our jobs, our pensions, our travel, our ability to move freely between countries, for our children to access education, for health services, our legislative process, our access to food and so on and on and on.

If questionning all that, not believing the empty promises made by politicians then yep - I was scared then and I'm scared now because I don't believe there is nearly enough detail to know what we're getting ourselves into. I have far too much to lose if (or rather, when) it goes pear-shaped.

The point? Because everybody would be moaning if there wasn't a leaflet/information?

Rumours are flying about that Boris intends to spend 100million on promoting his Brexit Deal/No Deal strategy.

Where's the Magic Money Tree Boris? The social care services (to mention but one category) could desperately use that kind of money.

I just wish everyone would calm down & wait & see what happens.

I think they are desperate and I think they are fearful. When I mentioned fear among the Brexiteers on another thread the idea was pooh-poohed and I was told they are all joyful! Desperate measures are often based on fear.

It will contain meaningless rhetoric designed to show the EU that they're really, really serious about a no deal Brexit - and that will get the EU scuttling about to open up the negotiations again because BJ and his cabinet have sent out a leaflet
