Is Harry less popular now?

Reading on the BBC News page that Harry is less popular since booking up with Megan. I thought I liked Megan and that she would be a calming influence but now I think she’s influencing him to a ridiculous degree and they are both behaving like Hollywood divas. What are your thoughts?

I agree with your posts notanan, he like his mother loves the camera

He's just like Di. Loves a bit of public charity work but everything he does is 100% self serving.

Not one ounce of a sense of duty about him. Lucky for us all that W is the eldest! W takes much more after Charles.

Just seen the photographs of them leaving the private jet on arriving in France.
Have you heard the expression " the cat that got the cream"?
It is perfectly portrayed in that photograph.

I dont think he has changed. He never did have much brains or integrity and was always a bit of a liability, however as a young man he could pull it off as a "lovable rogue" but now that he is nearly middle aged, its not a good look!

He is very immature and its no longer indearing.

Its teenage behaviour: lecture mum and dad about how meat is murder... then go round a cool mates house where there is a meat feast pizza and tuck in!

Probably give pysco babble ‘ the first year of a baby’s life etc ‘

merlotgran Mon 19-Aug-19 18:09:48

Maybe they'd like to update us on this 'hectic year of hard work and dedication to charity.'

They've both been on maternity leave! hmm

Anniebach Mon 19-Aug-19 18:03:54

Harry only has to come back at the end of summer and talk of his mother and he will again, be chocolate

SirChenjin Mon 19-Aug-19 18:01:47

Nope - they absolutely do not. They believe that money can buy them everything, and as long as they have a team of PR people telling us that they’re doing amazing things for womankind/the environment/poverty/mental health we’ll believe every sanctimonious word that they spout without question.

Anniebach Mon 19-Aug-19 18:01:41

In fairness Megan did write on bananas !

They have very generous, wealthy friends don’t they

merlotgran Mon 19-Aug-19 17:57:29

Elton John to the rescue!

Unsurprisingly, he paid for the private jet and made a carbon neutral donation on H&M's behalf. confused Apparently this wipes the slate clean with regard to the carbon footprint of a gas guzzling jet.

This was a reward after their 'hectic year of hard work and dedication to charity.'

Eh?

Maybe somebody should show Elton John how to use a dictionary and look up the definition of hypocrisy.

They just don't get it do they?

merlotgran Mon 19-Aug-19 15:36:03

What has changed him I wonder?

I think we all know the answer to that one. hmm

I'm reminded of that hilarious documentary about Elton John in his Pink Palace, apoplectic with rage because some unfortunate tourist called out, 'Cooeee' while he was playing tennis. He flounced off back home - in his private jet, of course.

Top that, Meghan. grin

Anniebach Mon 19-Aug-19 15:34:35

Aw, he is doing his bit, only having two children.

Did he toss a coin ? 3 children or private jets

The same can be said of William and Harry as was said many years ago about the queen and Margaret

Thank that one (Elizabeth) was born first

Callistemon Mon 19-Aug-19 15:32:26

maddyone

I received a communication from the Palace assuring me that their private jets are being pulled through the air by a team of unicorns, no aviation fuel involved so no carbon emissions at all, though there could be an occasional gentle eruption of methane. However, they further assured me that methane from unicorn farts does not add to global warming.

annsixty Mon 19-Aug-19 15:27:42

Do you mean who has changed him?

maddyone Mon 19-Aug-19 15:23:55

Oh dear, just seen in the news that Harry and Meghan have just taken their 4th private flight in eleven days, to return from their 3 day visit to the south of France, apparently to stay in Elton John’s villa near Nice. I really do wish they wouldn’t lecture the ordinary people like us how to behave and then do the complete opposite themselves. It’s so hypocritical. Four private jets in eleven days is ridiculous. Apparently William and Catherine have often taken Flybe flights up to Scotland, and usually travel first class on commercial flights. I also read that Harry has travelled Ryanair previously on short haul flights. What has changed him I wonder?

Anniebach Sun 18-Aug-19 19:32:45

Nooooooooo ? ?

Callistemon Sun 18-Aug-19 19:01:34

I heard a rumour that it wasn't Shakespeare who wrote The Scottish Play shock

Bridgeit Sun 18-Aug-19 17:40:13

Paddyann, aren’t you doing the same M& H
As a matter of principle making /earning money out of those you dislike & criticise is the same hypocrisy that they are being accused of.

Jabberwok Sun 18-Aug-19 16:46:11

The medieval period ended with the arrival of the Tudors, ie: 1485! Post that is the beginnings of the modern age.

Jabberwok Sun 18-Aug-19 16:33:48

Paddyann, that Scottish king didn't give a fig about his mother!! He was brought up by his Scottish carers to despise and hate her!!! That mother was deposed and betrayed by her own countrymen! She fled to England uninvited where she spent the next 19 years plotting to overthrow the person who gave her sanctuary. No attempt was made by Scotland to release her. I'm not sure who was the greater villain here!!!!!

Anniebach Sun 18-Aug-19 16:14:16

paddyann , I wouldn’t ‘take anyone’s money’. If your staff wages depended on you accepting one commission your business must have been struggling?

Callistemon Sun 18-Aug-19 15:58:17

I'll take anyone's money
Really?

Callistemon Sun 18-Aug-19 15:57:02

Well, not me personally!
I would never do such a thing.

As for taking anyone's money, I would have to have the courage of my convictions if they were so strongly held and refuse certain commissions.
Was there nothing else on offer at the time, then?

paddyann Sun 18-Aug-19 15:50:07

yes you did get a Scottish king but then you chopped his mothers head off first didn't you.I am a republican I believe that Royalty and all it stands for is an out of date concept in the 21st century
Kings and Queens and knights belong back in the medieval times of that Scottish king .
I am also a socialist "Annie" something you claim to be ,yet how can any socialist approve of the concept of hereditary succession...which you champion on here regularly.
.
And hey I run a business and I'll take anyones money I dont have to like them to do it .I had staff who had to be paid .

Callistemon Sun 18-Aug-19 15:15:04

Anniebach yes.

I think it would be regarded as expediency over principle for financial gain.
