Corbyn last year
"Shamina Begun should be allowed to return to the UK. She was only a 16 year old immature child when she joined ISIS she cannot be held accountable for her actions at such a young age"

Corbyn last week
"We the people demand 16 year olds be given the vote in the UK, they are responsible and free thinking young adults"

The Brexiteer

Annie, talking to you reminds me of conversations with my mother. The same few sentences repeated and repeated. She deserves my care and sympathy, you do not.

growstuff Sat 09-Nov-19 17:38:14

Frank Field has, and always has had, some extremely right-wing (especially socially) views. He also hates Corbyn, so it would be consistent for him to jump on a band wagon.

growstuff Sat 09-Nov-19 17:35:21

The closed minds are the ones who seem to have swallowed the anti-Semitic smears hook, line and sinker. Start looking at what other people are saying and try to understand the wider picture.

Tell me why, just weeks before the General Election, a number of Labour candidates have been accused of anti-Semiticism for events which, in some cases, go back years and are, to say the least, spurious.

Tell me that it's just a coincidence that a right-wing newspaper, whose main readership is Jewish, plasters instructions not to vote Labour on its front page.

There is an alternative explanation for what has been going on. The closed minds are the ones which aren't even considering it. There is something very strange happening and the story being supported by the MSM doesn't add up.

You could watch the video I posted above or read this alternative viewpoint: www.jewishvoiceforlabour.org.uk/article/freedlands-gymnastics-labour-antisemitism/

PS. I am no Corbyn supporter, but I don't like to see somebody attacked unfairly.

Anniebach Sat 09-Nov-19 17:32:24

I understand and respect your modesty that you have the smallest intellect but I disagree with you

MamaCaz Sat 09-Nov-19 17:29:53

My point, Annievach, although admittedly badly made, was that despite Frank Field's left-wing label - normally more than enough to make OH say of anyone, "what a s**t he is!" - DH likes what he says politically. In other words, FF's views appeal to a life-long Tory!

GracesGranMK3 Sat 09-Nov-19 17:11:58

There are certainly closed minds when it comes to devotion to Corbyn

Can't you change the tune Annie? Even to the smallest intellect is possible to see that just because someone doesn't hate the man you hate it does not mean they are devoted to them. I expect better reasoning from our eight and 11-year-olds.

I appreciate you are just trying to insult other members but can you get a better style? A more thinking persons level of insult as you seem to need to do it so often?

Anniebach Sat 09-Nov-19 17:03:40

I like Ken Clarke, this makes him closet labour ?

MamaCaz Sat 09-Nov-19 16:49:01

My OH is very right wing, and even he likes Frank Field!

Anniebach Sat 09-Nov-19 16:43:48

I am against witchcraft so I wouldn’t spend an evening with a coven.

I can't think what the poor witches have done to upset you Annie but don't you think you might learn something about them and them about your thinking if you did spend time together.

Surely it is the role of the peacemaker to talk to people he/she doesn't initially agree with, to try and find something they have in common and use it as a way forward. I don't think closed minds make anything but enemies and strife - the burning of witches, who were often just wise women, for instance. Let's hope you never have enough power to be "against" in earnest sad

Anniebach Sat 09-Nov-19 15:41:58

What rubbish , Frank Field a Labour MP for 39 years is a Tory,
Not very bright in Birkenhead are they

growstuff Sat 09-Nov-19 15:34:42

You obviously never lived in Birkenhead! hmm hmm hmm My mother, who was a staunch Conservative supporter and was one of Field's constituents for decades, used to refer to Field as the Conservative MP Birkenhead has never had.

Field has always been a maverick.

Do you regard the members of Jewish Voice for Labour as anti-Semitic?

Anniebach Sat 09-Nov-19 15:18:23

I have never thought of Frank Field as a man with right wing views.

growstuff Sat 09-Nov-19 15:06:29

I don't think this is all about anti-Semiticism at all. It seems to be that people with right-wing views, some of whom happen to be Jewish, are using anti-Semiticism as a stick with which to beat Corbyn.

Jews are not part of a homogenous group with the same political beliefs - or even the same interpretation of their religion.

growstuff Sat 09-Nov-19 15:02:28

But it doesn't make Corbyn anti-Semitic.

It means he wanted to spend the evening with a left-wing group, which isn't much of a surprise.

Anniebach Sat 09-Nov-19 15:00:05

I am against witchcraft so I wouldn’t spend an evening with a coven .

I have not lost Jura, but I don’t want ‘full communism, or
‘To smash the State of Israel, and do not have the same sense of humour as trisher, ‘f* the queen’ is not amusing , I wouldn’t find amusing ‘f* Diana Abbott Abbott either ,

Even though Corbyn did do so ?

Health secretary Matt Hancock was asked about his party's recent decision not to conduct an independent enquiry specifically into Islamophobia within their ranks, but into general "prejudice".

He said the party needed to hold an inquiry, but claimed others "take a more balanced approach" on the issue than Lady Warsi.

Lady Warsi who has been a vocal commentator on her party's response to the issue, tweeted sarcastically that she was "glad" to have colleagues like the health secretary to educate her on the issue, and that he was "whitesplaining".

She said that the prime minister's decision was "entirely predictable", adding: "We are only anti-racist to score political points."

Annabelle Sreberny is a Professor at SOAS in London. She's Jewish and this is what she has to say about Corbyn:

But it still doesn't make Corbyn anti-Semitic confused

Callistemon Fri 08-Nov-19 22:53:34

jura I think that Anniebach was quoting the sentiments of Jewdas, reported just after Corbyn met with them, if I remember correctly.
Presumably it pleases them or they wouldn't say it.

I don't think she has lost it, in fact she remembered it too.

MaizieD Fri 08-Nov-19 22:33:49

I have been told by a friend who is involved with the LP that part of the problem with anti-semitism is a huge backlog of cases which had been more or less parked by the previous leadership and which are taking a long time to work through. It's not that nothing is being done about them, it's that they take time to investigate properly
.
Apologies if this has been said before.

AllotmentLil Fri 08-Nov-19 22:25:21

I am from a Jewish background and my great grandmother had to leave her country of birth because of persecution. I am anti-Zionist. I am not anti-Semitic. I think Corbyn is a weak leader and that the LP will pay dearly for electing him. I do not believe him to be anti-Semitic but his poor handling of this question and others within the LP leave him open to criticism.

Barmeyoldbat Fri 08-Nov-19 17:07:26

I don't believe JC is anti semitic, he anti the Israeli government not the people. Just for the record I am a supporter of Palestine and believe that they have endured great hardship. But I have no bad feelings towards the Jewish people, just their government and their politics.

jura2 Fri 08-Nov-19 16:59:23

you really have lost it ... sorry.

Anniebach Fri 08-Nov-19 16:37:44

My sense of humour doesn’t stretch to ‘smash the state of Israel, f**k the Queen, burn down parliament, full communism’

I do understand this pleases some
