OMG!

Callistemon Fri 15-Nov-19 17:56:09

Oh!

I see it's for a NATO summit so perhaps he'll be kept busy; he'll also be at a reception given by HM.

Unfortunately I have prior engagements on those days.

If he in any way tries to influence the outcome of the election while here, my bet is that it will have the opposite effect from the one he intends!

M0nica Fri 15-Nov-19 18:10:44

I doubt that anyone other than those directly involved will take any notice of the visit.

Dark mornings, Dark nights,
Unless wearing a red coat and white beard will probably pass us all by.

Smileless2012 Fri 15-Nov-19 18:24:48

That's an 'OMG' fro me too mcem isn't this GE farcical enough without Trump making an appearance?

MamaCaz Fri 15-Nov-19 18:53:49

I'm not sure, Monica - I suspect that the Donald will dtruggle to resist saying or tweeting something about the election, and if he does, it is bound to be on all our screens within minutes!

M0nica Fri 15-Nov-19 19:25:44

MamaCaz but he does that all the time, and has done so already (on the election). I do not think anyone, in this country at least, takes any notice of his illiterate rants.

He has opinions on anything and everything. None of them are pertinent or relevant.

It was initially presented on the news as if he was coming because of the election but, as already mentioned, it’s for a NATO summit.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 15-Nov-19 19:45:10

I hope he doesn’t have time to discuss anything else.

And it’s an OMG not to mention a FFS from me too! ???

Davidhs Fri 15-Nov-19 19:52:48

Kiss of death, nothing good will come from it.

Oopsminty Fri 15-Nov-19 19:58:51

As has been mentioned.

It's the NATO summit.

It's to be expected that the President of the USA will be there

Whatever you think of him

Whitewavemark2 Fri 15-Nov-19 20:04:06

Well considering he is Luke warm about NATO at the very best, I don’t think he’d be missed if he didn’t turn up. In fact it would probably be a far better and productive meeting without him, grandstanding etc.

EllanVannin Fri 15-Nov-19 20:10:45

There's plenty of room for him !

mcem Fri 15-Nov-19 20:31:16

He'll no doubt berate the NATO leaders on how dependent we are on US cash and that they should "pay their fair share" or however he puts it in Trumpspeak!
Does anyone believe he'll resist the temptation to poke his nose into the election campaign.

OTOH trying to apply pressure on Ukraine for his own nefarious purposes has got him where he is today.

If he interferes with the GE in his own ridiculous way (and I have faith that he will!) that might help with the impeachment process.
In which case the visit might prove worthwhile!!

Callistemon Fri 15-Nov-19 20:32:43

Yes, he doesn't't like NATO much but perhaps geography is not his best subject.

Callistemon Fri 15-Nov-19 20:33:49

I'm not really bad at spelling, it's auto correct
