Yes, agree it is inclusive. Isn’t it supposed to be a prize though, for supposedly the best? (Having said that have no idea on this stuff, not arty at all, to me it is a load of codswallop. Mucky beds, formaldehyde etc).
I had to look it up to see who had won what! and I can't believe that big cash prizes are handed out for what we would call pre school efforts. Has everybody lost the plot? or perhaps someone would like to explain it all.
What is the point of a prize that refuses to single out a winner? Is this a symptom of our “snowflake” age in which competition is now considered so abhorrent that it must be publicly avoided?
As usual, I am bewildered by what is considered Art these days. Perhaps it because I have not studied any elements of the subject and it’s my ignorance which is at fault!
I think that Turner would be turning in his grave to see the representations that are called art and as for them all sharing the prize well that says it all. I love art and it breaks my heart to see these products as such. I might be wrong but it seemed to begin around the time that Saatchi started paying huge money to young artists for ideas promoted as art. No wonder the less talented got on the bandwagon.
