B9Exchange ?
JenniferEccles, which time in history would you like us to return to? Your suggestion that to train more male GPs is absolutely outrageous. I can hardly believe that there is anyone left who spouts such out of date ideas. What about equality of opportunity? What do you think the suffragettes fought for? They were the beginning of the emancipation of women, which has led to all of us having better opportunities. Our daughters, quite rightly, had even more equality and opportunity. The right to work part time (if the employer allows it) after a woman has given birth was brought into law by the Blair government, and has allowed hundreds of thousands (if not more) of women to combine a career and being a mother. Doctors are not treated differently under the law from anyone else, and that’s how it should be.
I’ve said it several times on this thread, but I’ll say it again, the way to solve the GP shortage is to train more doctors!
