They reckon a huge majority for the tories!

maddyone Fri 13-Dec-19 08:58:26

Grandad, did you hear the Alan Johnson interview, it’s illuminating. He said of Corbyn that ‘....he couldn’t lead the working class out of a paper bag.’ Johnson is a respected ex MP for the Labour Party. He is also moderate. Corbyn is anything but moderate. That’s why he was rejected.

Does BJ win mean there will be different health care schemes for the poor and for those who can afford private insurance?

travelsafar Quote [Was it all just a Brexit Referendum under the guise of an election???????] End Quote.

It was certainly in the North of England a second Brexit referendum. However, there was also one other major factor in play, that being the disunity in the Parliamentary Labour Party.

The above was the major problem that Jeremy Corbyn failed to "sort out" which in the end brought forward this disastrous night for the parliamentary Labour Party.

By example to the above, even during this election campaign, we all witnessed Jonathan Ashworth the shadow health secretary undermining Corbyn in an open phone call to "a Conservative friend". No political party can command the respect of the electorate while that level of disunity is held within its ranks.

That is why I believe that the wider Labour movement may well " pull the plug" on the existing Palimentery Labour Party in favour of a fresh political stance and regime.

No Gagajo I am NOT to blame for those kids. I sympathise greatly with their plight, but their families have to take responsibility for their own children.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 13-Dec-19 08:24:24

Same old same old!!!!

Conservatives do care, if the entrepreneurs and big business are not encouraged there will be more unemployment, less taxes collected, less investment in infrastructure.

In my opinion as expected anyone who voted for the Conservative Party and admits to it on GN is up for ridicule from the same posters.............boring, insulting and predictable.

GagaJo Fri 13-Dec-19 08:09:37

You know what I find so offensive? Some of you seem to see this as a big game. The 'game' of politics. Those of us that work in the social sectors SEE the results of poverty, day in, day out.

I've lost count of the number of times I've given children food, money, even bringing in clothes etc that I might have at home that would fit them.

So don't accuse me of being mean. Those of YOU who thought of self first are to blame for those poor, hungry, impoverished kids. Vote how you like, but that is the effect of your vote.

Corbyn is gone now. What are you going to call people with social consciences now?

Sara65 Fri 13-Dec-19 08:08:16

Luckygirl

I agree

Opal Fri 13-Dec-19 08:06:24

Watching Good Morning Britain, young Labour supporter called Grace on there, obviously a huge Corbyn supporter, she is SO arrogant and arguing with other Labour centrist supporters. Insults being thrown around on national TV. No wonder the LP are in the State they're in, they can't agree amongst themselves on the way forward!

NfkDumpling Fri 13-Dec-19 08:06:20

Agree Opal. Especially with your 07.00 post.

love0c Fri 13-Dec-19 08:00:38

Opal, don't bother. 'Self' and 'Money', they are the two words the Corbynists understand. They think only of themselves and that is why they can not wait to put their hand into someone else's purse!

Opal Fri 13-Dec-19 07:55:37

I didn't put SELF and MONEY before them Gagajo, I voted for the party that would be best for our economy, because without a strong economy, public services and the welfare state cannot be properly provided. I think the Tories know that they HAVE to deliver for the less fortunate during this term, or the backlash would be huge. Time will tell.

annep1 Fri 13-Dec-19 07:46:11

Gagajo. First time for me too.

GagaJo Fri 13-Dec-19 07:46:04

Opal, YOU try standing in front of poor and hungry children everyday. Trying to teach HUGE classes with no books.

This isn't just 'P'olitics. It is political on a personal level too.

SO yes. I'm ashamed. Ashamed of all of the British that put SELF and MONEY before children, the sick, disabled and needy.

annep1 Fri 13-Dec-19 07:44:27

I agree Maggiemaybe.

Perhaps you could explain your statement loveOc. Proud??

love0c Fri 13-Dec-19 07:44:03

Yes, you can read it like that. All the 'remainers; who insisted that if we voted again it would be a 'remain' result were wrong. It is a resounding 'Leave'!

Welshwife Fri 13-Dec-19 07:43:35

Well Boris Johnson seemed to think it was!

rosecarmel Fri 13-Dec-19 07:40:58

Can anyone answer travelsafar's question?

love0c Fri 13-Dec-19 07:36:33

I am happy and proud too. So happy that it is now clear the majority of people in this country are decent, honest, caring and have ASPIRATIONS!

craftyone Fri 13-Dec-19 07:21:38

I am proud and happy. The silent majority have spoken loud and clear

MawB Fri 13-Dec-19 07:01:05

Rockingchair Fri 13-Dec-19 04:59:27
To quote my Grandmother "We're in a right bugger's muddle now ‘.
The “Andrews ” ( Marr and Neil) could not have put it better !

Opal Fri 13-Dec-19 07:00:47

I'm proud to be British, we haven't thrown anything away! Onwards and upwards, time to accept the result - for the second time of asking.

Maggiemaybe Fri 13-Dec-19 07:00:09

So, five more years and a clear mandate to do their worst. I dare say me and mine will be all right Jack, but I doubt there’s any bright future ahead for the poor and vulnerable if the last few years are anything to go by.

GagaJo Fri 13-Dec-19 06:53:27

I'm ashamed to be British.

We've thrown away the poor, the NHS, our wellfare state, any chance for real change. FIRST time I've ever cried at an election result.

annep1 Fri 13-Dec-19 06:49:15

I must echo some of the comments including "heaven help us". In tears this morning. This election was so very important. People will realise this as Labaik said earlier. But regret won't change anything.

Opal Fri 13-Dec-19 06:46:06

The time for name calling is over. He's been voted PM with a landslide, so the vast majority don't agree with you. Time to change the record and move on.
