Laurence Fox wouldn't be facing the same kind of criticism, if he'd actually put forward a coherent point of view rather than behaving like a spoilt toddler. His subsequent behaviour and tweets have confirmed to me that he really is out of order and should not have been invited on to QT as a guest with anything serious to say.
Eglantinesuziewoozie is spot on. There is in law no such thing as a registered disability. There is no all-purpose definition. It depends what the person is not able to do and for what purpose.
Another sneering, patronising and condescending post. Is that your default setting for all of your posts when someone doesn't agree with you SuzieWuzie?
Chew I haven’t derailed the thread - some of us made the perfectly rational point that would it be acceptable if LF had said to a Jewish person or disabled person that he knew better than they did what constituted anti-semitism or ableism? The validity of his comments could not be discussed meaningfully without engaging with this wider context. I’m sorry if that’s too difficult for you to engage with. As for the clip, it’s all over Twitter along with others which amply demonstrate his complete absence of any musical talent whatsoever which failures is only compounded by him complete lack of awareness of such absence. So time taken to copy and paste said clip about 10secs
My point sooziewoozie is that you've managed to derail a discussion about racism by Googling YouTube for clips about the protagonists singing skills. Or lack off. And you then have the audacity to criticise another poster for having the inability to hold a reasoned, rational or informed discussion. As I said upthread.... ironic.
For the sake of clarity, there is no such thing as a registered disability. LAs maintain voluntary registers for people who are blind/partially sighted or deaf/hearing impaired. The main benefit is making it easier to get a disabled persons railcard. There is no register for people who cannot sing in tune.
If this isn’t a joke, it will do until a real joe comes along, LF is s joke because he thinks he can categorically stare what is racist or not. This utter lack of self awareness is demonstrated afresh and beautifully by his actually believing he can sing in tune. He is a talentless rather stupid person who is not disabled by his inability to sing in tune
growstuff I didn’t say I was registered disabled, I said I have a registered disability.
And because I, and others, cannot sing in tune, suziewoozie regards us as a joke. Not the disability. She didn’t say not being able to sing in tune is a joke. She said
He can’t even sing in tune. He (the person) really is a joke.
As I said, that really is ableism of the worst kind. Presumably suziewoozie can hear so regards those who can’t as a joke,
I didn't know that. I've been following his Twitter account off and on for the last couple of days and most of the stuff he's written just doesn't make sense or is truly bizarre.
I think Fox's version of reverse racism is the same one that the BNP, UKIP and various white conspiracy theorist have used in the past.
PS. Having read some of his tweets over the last few days, I seriously think he's off his trolley or overdoing some hallucinogenic substances (or both).
