Lisagran.
I did buy the book at the time although I did not find it a very interesting read.

Hetty some of us read it because is a comic, with some very good special sections (medical and financial).

You should also always read a paper whose views you disagree with as well as one you feel comfortable with.

The advantage of a newspaper over online sources, useful though they are, is that a newspaper provides you with umpteen pages of news on everything, subjects that interest you and those that don't, but I always end up running my eye over every page and picking up items on interesting things I would otherwise never have known I had in interest in plus at times reading articles on subjects that usually bore me - sport.

With online sources one tends to choose sources of the right political persuasion, and only those items that really interest you. It is usually very blinkered reading.

Now, we read two papers, one to our taste and one we can shout at. It is very cathartic

How about reading a decent newspaper instead of that comic? You might as well get the Mailomatic:

There is a book - available on Amazon (and other outlets, no doubt) - of “Answers to correspondents” and a review of the book contains an answer to your question

I was after "answers to correspondents" as opposed to the when the Daily Mail was first published

Not sure if this was an actually enquiry or if OP knew the answer and was testing us.

It only took a few seconds to search. 1896.
