If it was a woman and there were negative comments (which is what is wanted), there'd be shedloads of criticism about how shallow and nasty it was, judging someone on looks. He's ditched the glasses, so what?

As long as he is doing the job he was elected to do with proficiency, does it really matter if he wears glasses/contact lenses or maybe has had laser treatment to correct his vision?
