The subject of the thread is whether H+M behaved in an acceptable manner or not.

Actually, that explains a lot, it explains exactly why some people think H+M’s behaviour was okay, it’s because those people don’t understand or were never taught good manners and how to behave politely and with respect. They are judging H+M by their own standards, which appear to be rather low.
