Sajid Javid has just resigned as Chancellor!

It will be interesting to see how the debt hysterics, who voted Boris in while he said all the things they wanted to hear, react when they realise he has got rid of a debt hysteric Chancellor in order to be able to invest - rather as the LP suggested in the last election.

I can imagine a few more grey hairs appearing on the heads of those who still believe in Ma Thatcher's handbag economics.

Urm I did tell you at the time and you completely ignored my post - I can’t help it if you didn’t bother to read it, do get off your high horse.

Urmstongran Thu 13-Feb-20 15:07:00

sw when I post something and it’s incorrect - instead of being sarcastic - why not be friendly and let me know what I’ve got wrong? It would also help others if, like me, they don’t know ‘it’ either.

I'm in NI. He was very active and genuinely interested in what he was doing. I don't know how anyone can say otherwise.

Calendargirl Thu 13-Feb-20 14:38:18

All governments ' reshuffle'.

The only question is will the newly formed cabinet be successful.

The answer to that will never be ' yes ' if you harbour a dislike for the government at the time, the Conservatives in this instance, if you vote Conservative or are a floating voter the answer will be ' time will tell'.

suziewoozie Thu 13-Feb-20 14:30:16

Yes * Urm* you got it wrong in a context where getting it right mattered. You were arguing on a totally false premise. Facts matter

growstuff Thu 13-Feb-20 14:21:04

Whoever he is, he seems to be out of step with what many other people in NI are saying.

suziewoozie Thu 13-Feb-20 14:18:37

His view of JS will be shaped by his religious and political beliefs.

No role anywhere. Just a citizen outside of Belfast with his own opinion.

Julian Smith was behind the restoration of Stormont and did much for victims of historic abuse.

This is just one quote from BBC in NI:

"This is what Julian Smith did the night Stormont was restored - he hosted victims of historical abuse for a reception after helping them to get laws passed to provide long awaited compensation - he was the first SoS they said had listened to them properly"

And an other:

"Julian Smith sacked as NI SOS. After a string of people who were at best indifferent, at worst incompetent, the brit gov sent someone(likely accidentally)that was actually interested in the area, people, and who didnt buy into the whole "witch hunt of our boys card"

There are hundreds like that.

SPADs are paid for by the taxpayer. I got it wrong before.

From the Guardian:

‘Boris Johnson has expanded the government’s team of taxpayer-funded special advisers compared with Theresa May’s time in office, with three identified as being paid more than £140,000 a year.’

suziewoozie Thu 13-Feb-20 14:05:09

What religion and political party is your friend Urm and what is their role at Stormont? I think we should we told ?

suziewoozie Thu 13-Feb-20 14:03:06

Well* Urm* that clinches it . He clearly deserved to go, Now where is it you live annepl?

growstuff Thu 13-Feb-20 14:01:52

That's not what the other messages from NI are saying, Urmstongran.

suziewoozie Thu 13-Feb-20 14:01:43

More coming out about why JS was sacked

growstuff Thu 13-Feb-20 14:00:52

Didn't Jeffrey Archer write a book called "First Among Equals" (primus inter pares)?

Urmstongran Thu 13-Feb-20 14:00:26

A friend in NI has just sent me a message ‘Glad to hear that the useless Julian Smith is out. This fly-in, fly-out N Ir. Secretary was never here.
He couldn't make a decision to save his life!‘

vegansrock Thu 13-Feb-20 14:00:02

Remember this lot mosning about the EU being run by “unelected bureaucrats”. Ironic.

suziewoozie Thu 13-Feb-20 13:59:26

A few days about,Urm thought BJ paid DC’s salary ?. And eazy if you don’t know the initials of these leading players, you need to do a bit more homework.

growstuff Thu 13-Feb-20 13:58:17

Allegedly!

So why didn't Cummings at least inform Javid?

Cummings is unelected and isn't in charge of SpAds.

Urmstongran Thu 13-Feb-20 13:58:02

Muddled how?
